POSTED April 18
Product Designer at Red Collar
- Design
- Fulltime
- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
Hello! We are looking for a senior specialist to join the Red Collar team in the design communications department.
Red Collar has been creating aesthetic digital products for businesses for 12 years. We experiment, make bold decisions, and take responsibility for our actions. Our projects have no "expiration date" — even after many years, they continue to inspire and serve as benchmarks.
Responsibilities:
You're a proactive team player skilled at integrating into existing design processes, ready to view them from a new perspective and work on their improvement.
You're meticulous and detail-oriented, diving deep into tasks from the acceptance stage, delving into requirements, asking questions, and thinking broadly about the product.
As a responsible and empathetic leader, you know how to take charge of a group of designers on a project, plan their work, control the quality of the outcome, listen to their professional needs, and provide assistance where necessary.
You're thorough in your approach, understanding that tasks are more than just instructions for action. You always consider the context and surroundings, recognizing when it's essential to grasp the underlying meaning and fill in any gaps in your knowledge.
Open to discussion, you're also prepared to initiate it, understanding where transparency is lacking and creating platforms for constructive resolution of emerging issues. You build trustful, collaborative relationships within the workgroup.
You're quick to understand, able to decode client desires and bring references that accurately describe their request so the team knows what to do next.
You know that the devil is in the details, paying close attention to everything from button rounding to color shades, and instilling this approach across the team. You maintain order in your layouts and files, ensuring anyone on the project can easily navigate them without your help.
You can channel creativity in the right direction, familiar with the concept of a constraint corridor, working within it, and shaping it for the team. You understand that a good idea comes through creative sessions and numerous work iterations.
You test your solutions, relying not only on your expertise but also on hypothesis testing through UX research.
You are professional in communication, interacting with clients and the team consistently, respectfully, and constructively, and presenting your work results. Your statements are always backed by solid arguments, not just words tossed into the wind.
What we expect:
- Experience of at least 3 years in product development or in an agency working on product projects.
- Development of mobile applications, web services with complex branching logic, and interfaces for other regularly used platforms with high user load.
- Creation and support of expansive and documented design systems.
- Leadership of a design team on a major project for at least six months.

Remuneration: $80 - 105k inclusive
Location: Victoria, co-work at Melbourne CBD
We work remotely and once a week we meet-up at our co-working office Hub Southern Cross for a bit of human interaction :) We also support team members who want to work overseas for a couple of weeks or months at time.
Type: Full time (9 day fortnight*) *We do the same amount of hours over a fortnight, but take every 2nd Friday off.
About the role
As we grow we look for ways to evolve and we want to shape our roles around people. So at the moment, this role is focused on the following, and we’re open to how you think we could evolve it 🙂
As a Designer, you’ll be creating and evolving brand design systems, designing websites and creating content for digital channels. You’ll consider the brand, their goals and audiences to create distinct designs that work across different formats; emails, blogs, social media, videos, scripts, brand documents, website, case studies. You’ll be participating in workshops with clients to understand their ideas and needs, as well as presenting back your concepts and designs.
While you focus on Design, you’ll collaborate with our core team who’ll help manage the client, create engaging copy, identify technical requirements, build and integrate (for websites). If you’d like to lean into any of those areas we’d be more than happy to make that work for you. We design in Adobe, Figma, Canva and Google Suite depending on the client and project and bring design to live in Webflow, Shopify (sometimes Wix) and marketing platforms like Klaviyo, MailChimp, Meta Ads and social channels.
For this role we’re seeking a Designer with 3 or more years experience developing brands, websites and brand assets.
If you were here last month you could've been involved in.
Participated in a client workshop to gather ideas and design inspiration rebrand for a client in the sustainable architecture industry
Collaborated with designer Celine on a new brand system for a client - discussing design references, the clients strategy and initial thoughts on design approaches
Creating templates, visuals and animations with our content team to create an engaging email and social content calendar for a sustainable builder
On Tuesdays you co-worked with the team at the Hub Southern Cross. You joined a couple of the team to discuss whether soup is really a meal or not, Celine's bathroom renovations and Rach's search for a rental
You joined our Monthly Impact Update where you heard about the month that was. The team celebrated each team member’s “greatest hits”, wins, learnings, and you heard a transparent overview of how we’re tracking financially. We reviewed our strategic goals, projects & reflected on what we should start, stop and continue doing. You heard about details on two pieces of client work the team were particularly proud of.
You collaborated on the design on the design of a research report distilling down the key insights from a 6 month project understanding campervan travel behaviours
Beck and you worked together on the layout for a wireframe for a client supporting people with Cerebral Palsy
You did a design review and improvement to a recent Shopify project we launch - for one of Australia’s most successful locally designed footwear brands
You helped the team create a suite of Canva templates to help the content team create engaging social posts
You attended your fortnightly self-development and coaching session with your manager and walked away with clear feedback on areas you’re thriving in, areas for improvement and goals to work on
You worked with Sarah to create packaging for KOSI a coconut brand in Solomon Islands to export products so they can bring economic empowerment to local women
You can...
Be curious and creative
You’re a proactive self-learner with an understanding of how good design can bring out the best in a brand. You have a hunger for staying across the latest brand, design and content trends, and can translate your findings into your creative work to deliver on brand goals. You’re committed to continuous improvement, open to experimenting with new tools and skill building. You know how to ask client’s the right questions to tell a story and create engaging brand experiences.
Be strategic and act
You love memorable brands that gives strong looks and big feels. We know how to meld industry best practice with the magic of our client’s brand to create and implement a kick-butt brand experience. You have a ‘test and learn’ mentality to brand design, getting a brand to a better place to get in-market feedback. You’re passionate about empowering clients with user-friendly visual ID’s, templates, decks and digital assets they can sink their teeth into.
Play smart and lean
You are organised and detail-oriented, and are comfortable in an online environment. You manage your time well and can keep a few plates spinning by prioritising the tasks you have on the go. You know how to use (or open to learning) tools like G Drive, Slack, Canva and Figma to maximise efficiency, and always stay solution-focused, finding creative - and sometimes scrappy - ways to solve problems.
Use business for good
You are passionate about the role business can play to be a force for good and want to be surrounded by people who feel the same and made it their life’s work!

POSTED April 15
Senior Experience Designer at frog

- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
What will you be doing?
Experience Designers are responsible for the design of digitally enabled products and services. You will use your broad skillset across the service, interaction, and visual design domains to craft holistic design solutions, from early-stage idea generation through detailed design of product service features and user stories in a digital product.
As a Senior Experience Designer, you are expected to represent depth in the craft of experience design: as an individual contributor, as a mentor and guide for more junior colleagues, and as a contributor to the community of practice. You will often be the backbone of your projects from beginning to end. You will plan, prioritize, and deliver service design activities autonomously, in the context of cross-functional projects. You will lead client conversations within your domain, providing articulate recommendations and helping guide client choices.
In this specific role, you will join a bustling and collaborative team that leads the digital product discovery and design for a global Quick Service Restaurant – one that feeds 1% of the world’s population every single day. You will play a central role in the entire lifecycle of a digital product, from research through detailed design, partnering closely with Product Management and Engineering (who are as passionate about product as they are burgers and fries). Your product areas might be focused on things like mobile ordering, loyalty, kiosk, crew facing restaurant technology, or web, just to name a few. This is a hybrid position; three days per week you’ll link up with your team IRL at this global company’s headquarters in Chicago’s burgeoning West Loop.
Your fellow team members will rely on you to:
Embrace being a self-starter with high agency, diving deep into the entire product design lifecycle, from user research to detailed design
Partner with other designers, product managers, and technology leads to drive alignment around user needs, and rally around lovable and feasible customer-first solutions
Be able to zoom out to define holistic digital product and convergent experience concepts, in collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Strategy, Operations, etc.)
Be curious and connect the “why” behind design decisions to the business’s goals
Bring clarity to all through your design craft, especially when things feel ambiguous
Apply systems thinking into actionable user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs
Thrive in a team that values open sharing of WIP and is committed to a culture of collective brainstorming
Support a successful knowledge transfer of designs to the development team, co-writing component specifications with adherence to accessibility standards
In this role, you will:
Understand goals, business requirements and constraints, market opportunities and user needs to help define opportunity areas and experience requirements
Plan, conduct, and synthesize research, testing and prototyping with users and SMEs
Design wireframes, screens, and prototypes to illustrate product behavior along defined use cases
Map existing and future experiences, both front and backstage users who are involved, through journey maps, blueprints, and ecosystem maps
Together with cross-disciplinary teams, create digital product experiences that push the bar for the current and future customer and user experience
Help define new product/service value propositions and influence roadmaps
Craft compelling narratives that bridge user aspirations with business objectives
Design wireframes, screens, and prototypes to illustrate product behavior along defined use cases
Mentor and develop other designers
We want you to have:
8+ years of professional experience in experience/interaction design (although you might have had a different job title, like “UX Designer”), and a robust practical and theoretical grounding in experience design through your studies or through your previous experience
Ability to work onsite at company headquarters in Chicago three days per week
Familiarity with articulating and incorporating accessibility standards and guidelines into design documents and specifications
A passion for understanding customer and user needs, as well as experience working with UX researchers and conducting UX research
Exemplary core design skills, demonstrated in your portfolio of recent work
A love of learning new things and growing your skills by diving in head-first to the task at hand
Excellent presentation skills, with a strong ability to clearly explain your work to others
Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams
A deep knowledge of and expertise using design and prototyping tools (such as Figma) and design language systems
Affinity for frog’s values, and a passion for creating products that meet peoples’ functional and emotional needs
Experience working in an agile product delivery environment
Business level ability to conduct business in English
Penchant to nerd-out on design and emerging trends
