Hi, we're Oscar. We’re hiring a Brand Copywriter to join our Marketing.

About the role:

As a Copywriter/Writer you’ll partner with our Creative Director and designers to develop ideas, drive and develop content, and craft the voice and tone for our advertising, blogs, direct mail designs, social, email campaigns, swag, and everything in between. You’ll tell compelling member stories, as well as, provide really important information to our existing and prospective member base. The right candidate is an experimentalist at heart, with a firm grounding in the basics of copywriting and long form writing. You’re deeply creative and collaborative yet independent. You know how to write with clarity, compassion and care, as well as wit, surprise and cleverness. You’re not afraid to get someone’s attention with a great line and you don’t mind being nimble.

Oscar serves a wide variety of people, ranging from young families to small business owners, to those on Medicare. They’re in a wide variety of places as well, from California, to Texas, to Florida, to the Bronx. And everyone, of course, is stressed by a global pandemic. You’ll need to be curious about all of these people and sensitive to their changing needs.

You will report into the Creative Director. This is a remote role, you will work remotely in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington. Note, this list of states is subject to change.

Responsibilities:

  • Own projects from start to finish, in collaboration with teammates and team leaders.
  • Develop and execute creative ideas ranging from swag to advertising to direct mail pieces.
  • Develop content including blogs, email and social campaigns, from idea through execution.
  • Represent brand voice and tone to every team across the company. Help steward this by editing and guiding other team’s work to be consistent with brand voice and tone.
  • Shape the present and future of Oscar’s creative endeavors, big, small, everyday and never-before-seen.
  • Work hand-in-hand with brand designers, product designers and marketing teammates.
  • Concept and execute an idea that can translate across multiple channels and formats.
  • Address feedback and revise work based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Adapt to speed, scrappiness and motivation by a fast paced and high performing team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent 4 equivalent years of experience
  • You have 5+ years experience in copywriting/content creation across multiple formats.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills with the ability to be witty as well as concise and clear.
  • You have experience in user-centric writing, including work in health care.

Bonus points:

  • Artistic pursuits in any medium.
  • Spanish speaker.
