Job Description

The Informa Tech Automotive Group is a leading publisher of automotive news, insights, data and research through its highly regarded brands, Wards Intelligence, WardsAuto and Tu Automotive. It also produces a series of annual global conferences and other content focused on emerging automotive technology, and other key industry issues.

The retail analyst will focus on how auto industry megatrends, technology and evolving consumer demands will change the way vehicles are sold and present new hurdles and opportunities for franchised dealers and other retailers in the U.S. They also will follow the new-mobility sector, particularly related – but not limited to – how that will impact the new-vehicle retail network.

The retail analyst will be charged with reporting on trends and technology related to automotive retail sector, surveying our audience and writing articles to help new-vehicle dealers understand where they should place their bets in order to survive and prosper over the next decade.

They’ll also be tasked with presenting their research at conferences and webinars and interact with media as Wards Intelligence’s resident expert on all things retail. In addition, the retail analyst will produce e-newsletters and work with Brand & Demand clients to develop and produce market-leader programs and other sponsored content and deliverables.

Qualifications

Candidates should have an interest in following and writing about the auto industry, have the ability to connect the dots on how industry trends already are or may impact the automobile retail sector and be capable of juggling multiple assignments.

At least five years of journalism or business-analysis background or comparable experience in interviewing preferred, researching and writing is required. Experience in creating and analyzing research/survey data and presenting findings is a plus.

Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of the auto industry, trends around mobility, electrification and automated driving, and how the U.S. franchised-dealer network operates. Some travel required.
