About the Role

As a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Strategist, you will be responsible for designing and executing key pillars of our SEO strategy, turning them into a key driver of growth for our business. You will play a key role in partnering with cross-functional teams to create and execute the plan. You’ll work cross-functionally with Acquisition team, Product Marketing, Analytics, Engineering and senior leadership. You will be joining a scaling start-up. As part of a small but mighty team, you will play a pivotal role in taking Plooto to the next level!

With a deep understanding of current, impactful and proven SEO tactics for SaaS organic lead generation, a focus on using content, technical SEO, and link building strategies you will drive organic search results.

You will drive customer and revenue growth by leveraging our organic channel. To do so, you will identify and execute SEO strategies to help us rank first for high-value industry keywords.

What You'll Do

  • Define measurable goals and metrics, set priorities, socialize SEO strategy, and work with partner teams to meet those requirements.
  • Build and deliver comprehensive quarterly roadmaps derived from data and customer insight.
  • Proactively review and identify SEO growth opportunities by analyzing existing content architecture, keyword optimization and expansion, audits and data/traffic analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for increased website engagement and stronger conversion rate optimization (SEO ranking factors) for organic leads.
  • Strategize, own and execute and execute the backlink plan
  • Execute technical site SEO audits to identify roadblocks or areas of opportunities and provide technical recommendations as you work with development teams to implement identified changes.
  • Perform ongoing keyword research to discover opportunities and new trends within the rapidly evolving Fintech industry.
  • Establish guidelines for marketing teams, product managers, developers, and designers to improve SEO for our product and for our customers. This includes reducing page load/latency, optimizing URL structure, and data and site architecture.
  • Become familiar with our growing library of content. Perform category audits to advise on when to create new content vs updating or consolidating older content with established ranking.
  • Utilize the current competitive and content gap analysis to identify effective strategies and opportunities for new growth and build a targeted content strategy that aims to improve our organic visibility and channel acquisitions.
  • Build a set of operational standard methodologies that will monitor and report on SEO efforts, improvements being made, and areas of development. Monitor core KPIs (traffic, leads, conversion rates, customers and cost-per-lead, and cost-per-customer), understand the impact of optimizations as well as external changes.
  • Stay abreast with SEO trends, search engine algorithm updates, and technology. Continuously share significant updates with peers.
  • Help educate internal teams on industry-standard methodologies.

Your Background

  • 4-6 years of SEO experience in managing B2B SEO.
  • Drive: demonstrated initiative on new business opportunities and learning new skill sets.
  • Intellectual curiosity: think critically about problems combining ingenuity, resourcefulness and raw intelligence.
  • Passion: show enthusiasm and excitement for your work and our mission.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS or Fintech a plus
  • Experience with video SEO a plus.
  • Track record of content creation that has ranked First Search Result on Google.

  • Positioned as a subject matter authority in all core SEO areas including: Content Cluster, Distribution Plans, Content Management, Keyword Research, Technical SEO - UX, site architecture, URL structure, sitemaps, canonical tags, dynamic/static pages, and On-Page Optimization (Metadata, Headings, Content, Anchor Links, Navigation, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience in website technology related to SEO, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, BrightEdge, SEMRush, SERPs, Ahrefs, SpyFu, Tag Manager, Moz, Keyword Research tools. HTML and CSS a plus.
