Job Description

Animoto is looking for an agile creative writer to support multiple customer-facing channels. They are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about the written word and comfortable delivering fast, grammatically sounding original copies and editions.

We are a remote-first, office-optional team. You are invited to do the best work of your life from anywhere within the USA.

We make best-in-class, easy-to-use web and mobile video creation apps, with pre-built narrative templates and stunning video styles, that help our customers customize their own engaging videos to share on social media and beyond.

Please note: this is a 3-month contract role for 20 hours per week

We’re looking for an agile creative copywriter to support multiple customer-facing channels. We’re seeking someone who is enthusiastic about the written word and is comfortable turning around quick, grammatically-sound original copy and edits.

What You’ll Do

  • Support all copywriting needs for channels including the blog, email, social media, and others as needed
  • Independently research, pitch, and write on-trend content for the Animoto blog
  • Audit existing blog posts and deliver copy edits for review in support of content strategy goals
  • Execute content maintenance tasks in the CMS platform Contentful

What We’re Looking For

  • 2-4 years experience in marketing copywriting in-house or at an agency
  • Ability to adapt your writing to a brand voice and quickly emulate our tone in your own writing
  • Experience optimizing copy to meet current SEO best practices
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Intimate knowledge of tech and video marketing trends, and/or an eagerness to research said trends

Bonus Points

  • Experience creating B2B content for SAAS marketing campaigns
  • Experience in video or video marketing
  • Experience in the CMS platform Contentful, or experience formatting copy in Markdown
