Job Description

The City of Phoenix Police Department has an opening for a Data Entry Operator (Remote Computer Terminal Operator*CAU Lead). This position operates a remote computer terminal by inputting, retrieving, and making necessary changes to data used in inventory control and a variety of accounting and statistical reports. Work also includes keeping an efficient and accurate file system of records, documents, and reports. Some positions in this classification will provide functional direction to Reserve Officers (volunteers). The incumbent also conducts the more critical and complex projects required of the unit staff. This lead position acts as office manager and has the overall responsibility of ensuring that all work is completed in a timely manner with the utmost accuracy.

SALARY


$15.82 (minimum) - $23.03 (maximum) hourly / $32,905.60 - $47,902.40 annually

Additionally, effective 10/1/2022, Paid Parental Leave is now offered to eligible employees up to 480 hours (12 weeks) of paid leave for the birth, adoption or foster care placement of a child during a 12-month period.

Pension Information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of clerical experience involving the operation of computer data entry and retrieval equipment.
  • Other combinations of education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience performing varied clarical tasks including typing or operating calculation equipment.
  • Experience with standard office practices and procedures.
  • Experience using a database and data entry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Customer service experience.
