Account/Project Manager at Evil Martians
- Project Management
- Fulltime
- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
Evil Martians are seeking a full-time Account/Project Manager to join our distributed team. The salary shown here is a “gross” salary (before tax deductions).
We’re seeking candidates with backgrounds ranging from product and project management to sales or business development. As a Manager at Evil Martians, you’ll have a pivotal role in managing products and projects, validating ideas, and coordinating timelines and tasks within the project team. This role also involves contributing to pre-sales with new leads, overseeing extensions of current contracts, and promoting additional services within existing agreements.
If you have a diverse skill set and share excitement about the startup world, consider applying. We guarantee professional growth and provide benefits beyond financial compensation:
- Evil Martians is an international company headquartered in New York. Martians have been fully remote for over 15 years. We know how to manage a distributed, asynchronous-first team without micromanagement. If you’re looking for a purely remote role, you’ll find a home in our globally-distributed team. For those who want to relocate, we can offer a place in our office in Lisbon, Portugal: you can rely on our help with visas and relocation after a 2-month probation period.
- The team comes first, even with business matters: for instance, we discuss all critical business decisions openly, and every team member can influence the decision-making. Our finances are completely transparent for employees.
- We love open source and have many brilliant engineers. If you’re familiar with the open source world, you may recognize some names. We’d love to help you grow in the open source community, too. If you’re already experienced, there’s also lots of room for you to help our rising web development stars.
- We help you amplify your voice and grow professionally: we’ll assist you in applying for, practicing, traveling to, and giving talks at conferences and podcasts. We’ll guide you in writing articles for our blog (often appearing in prominent newsletters and on websites like Hacker News).
- For those working with us for several years, we offer (paid) sabbaticals of up to 3 months.
- We have a revenue-sharing model: we annually distribute a portion of the company’s profit among employees.
- We offer medical insurance, English courses, reimbursements for hardware, educational programs, and materials.
Here’s why you should consider a career with us:
- Evil Martians is a product development consultancy working with growth-stage startups while creating open source projects. Most Martians can code, including founders, managers, and designers. We’re a reliable product development partner responsible for product roadmaps with measurable deliverables, design, release planning, iterative development, deployment, and service reliability engineering—and as Manager role you’ll be an essential player in these partnerships.
- Our clients are mainly in the USA and Europe. These include recognized developer tools (Tines, HTTPie, Stackblitz, Akeero), Y Combinator alumni that grew to the industry unicorns (Teleport, Podium, Fountain, 2U), and global giants (eBay, Gett, and Groupon). We directly and positively affect international products and engineering culture in these companies.
Martian Manager responsibilities include:
- Helping customers make product decisions and defining product development vectors, documenting decisions and agreements along the way. Assisting clients during pivotal moments, for instance when they are exploring a scalable business model or experiencing explosive growth.
- Under-promising and over-delivering: our Managers strategize, prioritize, and plan our workload to maximize client value and carefully align expectations for both teams.
- Taking responsibility for project paperwork while holding clients accountable for timely contract signing and payments.
- Building long-term relationships with the CEO, CTO, and customer project teams while constantly exploring both the technologies a client utilizes and more effective technologies we can offer, a client’s business goals, as well as strategies and market trends to suggest potential business growth points and infrastructure cost saving opportunities.
- Working asynchronously and transparently, and ensuring the project team also works this way.
- Seeking opportunities to expand and extend contracts.
- Allocating time strategically and reaching for help when needed.
- Communicating clearly and with integrity, and preventing crises: honest but polite feedback to the client and internal team is instrumental in our success.
- Measuring performance through analytics and ensuring our engineering team meets customer business goals.
Here are some signs you’re an ideal candidate:
- You’re interested in exploring the startup scene.
- You’re a great communicator and capable of fluently communicating in written and spoken English. (Russian fluency is a plus.)
- You’re comfortable and efficient working remotely.
- An engineering background is preferred, although not strictly required.
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit. You know how to plan experiments with a product owner, analyze results, and propose new hypotheses.
- You’re great at time management and multitasking. Even when busy with your current projects you can communicate with potential customers, help with case studies, prepare for conferences, improve internal processes, and manage your professional growth.
- The idea of transparency inspires you; you want to be aware of everything that happens in a company, including finances, and see how your work impacts revenue. You want to receive bonuses based on company success and your contribution.
How to apply:
Reach out to us at obey-manager@evilmartians.com with your full name as the email subject. In your email:
- Tell us about your experience with building a product: whether on your own or for a customer. Include a description of your ideas and hypothesis. Tell us about your role and responsibilities, your previous team, results, mistakes, and outputs. Share links and materials.
- Tell us about your professional achievements that can be measured and proven. Written asynchronous communication is a massive part of a manager’s job. Telling your unique story is an excellent opportunity to showcase your communication style.
- Explain your motivation to join Evil Martians. Please explain why you and Evil Martians are a good fit.
Once we receive your email, we will:
- Read your story and ask some questions.
- Arrange a Zoom interview #1.
- Provide homework; you will have one week to complete the task. Usually, we ask the candidate to research a product or product idea and prepare a super brief pitch to present it.
- Arrange a Zoom interview #2, if needed.
- Arrange the final Zoom interview with the CEO of Evil Martians.

Senior Marketing Project Manager (B2B2C Marketing Services) at Moxie
- Project Management
- Fulltime
- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
Our company
Moxie enables nurses to become entrepreneurs, and grow successful, independent businesses. MedSpas are booming, regulated practices that provide aesthetics services like botox, fillers, and more.
Today, 80% of them in the US are individually owned and operated and we want to keep it that way. We provide our entrepreneurs the tools and expertise to operate with the scale of a large chain while remaining independent.
We are a well-funded Series A startup with many happy customers and are growing to help make more entrepreneurs. That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Marketing Project Manager who will operate, improve, scale and expand the Marketing Services we offer to our clients, so that they in turn can grow their MedSpa business in their local market. Our growth model has worked well, we’re seeing great CPL and profitable LTVs, and want a dedicated, focused owner of this operation and team of assistants.
This is an excellent opportunity for you if you want to prove that you can scale a marketing program. You’ll build on something that already works, and build the track record of taking it to the next level. You’ll manage systems, processes, and a team to deliver ongoing marketing services for 150+ clients and launch 20+ new clients every month.
Just as importantly, we’re also expanding our service offerings to provide more customization, new media and creative support, and additional channels. Here, you have the opportunity to lead an important function as we experiment, iterate, and expand.
You'll be the right hand of the Provider Marketing Lead to help bring the vision for growth to life. You are probably a type-A organizer who can take a half-baked solution and quickly develop it into a scalable process that can be executed by offshore assistants.
What success looks like
Within you 3 months, you:
Oversee day-to-day execution of SOPs for website creation and CRM implementation to maintain SLAs, improve QA, and are proactive about status/problems/performance
Have streamlined our Meta advertising account management from launch to optimization to scaling, resulting in 90% of new accounts performing well enough to increase budget within 2 months.
Hired and managed offshore assistants, developed and implemented new SOPs for Meta advertising management, designed training opportunities to level up their skills, as well as created developmental and improvement projects to work on in their downtime.
After 6 months, you:
Have implemented a new project management solution that provides a single source of truth for all client communications, activities, and actions. Any stakeholder can find out what’s going on in self-service 8 out of 10 times.
Rinse and repeat as the team adds new channels and services
After 12 months, you:
- Developed an organization strategy to support our next phase of growth, improving productivity and performance with project managers owning each service area.
We’re looking for:
Strong orchestrator and project manager: makes order out of chaos, strong at figuring out how to make something work and takes other people along.
Optimizer: geeks out over a great process, will get into the details, uses technology
Proficient in B2C/B2B2C marketing, probably 3+ years experience probably in marketing agency or a similar role
Good with people: manages offshore staff effectively, works well across teams, and with clients.
Why join us
Above all, we’re in this to empower small business owners to own and grow their businesses. If you succeed, Med Spas will remain the opportunity for independent owner-operators instead of being dominated by a small number of large chains. If that speaks to you, speak to us.
We have much left to build. But given the market feedback we’re getting and our founding team’s company-building experience, we think we are writing the first chapters of a real success story.
Experience scaling a B2B2C Marketing Services function. A role like this molds to its owner, but inevitably stretches and grows you as well.
Competitive salary and stock, and generous health/dental/vision coverage
We're excited to hear from you!
