Software Engineer - Web Front End (Experienced) at Sembly

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced web front-end engineer with a passion for translating complex user stories and solution concepts into usable, responsive, high-performance interactions in our web application.

As an experienced web engineer (on-site or remote), you will own the development of certain mission critical features of our web applications, such as hierarchical content rendering, offline caching, web performance optimization, server-side rendering, overall navigation flow, collaborative editing, real-time update and notification, and others. You might also work on building reusable components for our web-based internal tools and custom data visualization tools.

You might also build end-to-end common libraries to support localization, internationalization, session management, data tracking, end user monitoring, and others.

You will work with other experienced engineers in the team across backend, systems engineering, and devops, and participate in user story prioritization, product planning, design review, and code review process. You will also have the opportunity to shape our engineering standards, processes, and common libraries and tools, and together build a world-class engineering culture in the company.

Qualifications:

  • Strong computer science fundamentals with an educational background in any quantitative majors
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented abstraction and design patterns
  • Experience in developing complex yet highly usable and performant web applications (show us your sample works). At the minimum you must be familiar with the use of Websocket, using virtualized components in React.js, memoization, and other advanced uses of React.js
  • Deep experience in web technology stack and good understanding of the internal workings of client-server architecture
  • A strong passion towards code quality and overall engineering and design quality
  • A good product sense and user empathy
