Product Designer at Edgevanta

Job Description
Our Pitch:
At Edgevanta, we make software that helps contractors win more work at the right price with the least hassle. Our intuitive, web-based bidding and backlog management platform is built to give our customers the information they need to improve their profitability.
A little more on Edgevanta:
Our co-founder and CEO, Tristan Wilson, is a 4th generation contractor who carries a legacy of his family's former business, Barriere Construction, based in South Louisiana. He spent most of his career bidding and managing highway construction projects, realizing that the key to winning contracts lies not just in calculating one's costs but in considering many other important factors like historical bidding data, intelligence about competitors, and resource availability.
Our software automates the painfully manual process of collecting bidding data, pricing trends, backlog management, and resource allocation for construction companies. Since launching our first product in 2022, we have quickly grown to earn the business of some of the country's premier paving and infrastructure contractors with a small team. Our ARR grew 80% in the first three months of 2024, and we’re just getting started.
Before Edgevanta, contractors used spreadsheets or siloed, legacy systems to manage their bidding process and backlogs. Edgevanta syncs with ERP’s, estimating programs, and public agency websites in 1 centralized data and analytics platform. We give contractors back time in their day. Our core values are results, curiosity, fixing customer problems, candor, and doing good.
Technologies we work with:
Design: Figma
Engineering: Jira
What you will be responsible for:
Leading the design process and collaboration across the product team to ensure the best user experience and design practices are implemented.
Working closely with product managers and engineers to integrate user-centered design into the development lifecycle and influence product strategy.
Developing and maintaining a comprehensive design system with reusable UI components and design guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across our platform.
Conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback to validate design decisions. Using insights to continuously improve the user experience.
Managing and executing design projects from discovery to launch, ensuring they meet deadlines and align with the company's strategic objectives.
Effectively communicating design concepts and decisions to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment and understanding of design directions and strategies.
What we want you to achieve:
Create a comprehensive design system that will serve as the backbone for all UI/UX efforts across the platform, ensuring consistency and efficiency in product development.
Lead redesign projects for our most critical applications, focusing on improving usability and overall user satisfaction. Aim to elevate the user experience to be best-in-class within our industry.
Systematically conduct user research and usability testing sessions to gather actionable insights, guiding the continuous improvement of the user interface and user experience.
Work closely with product management, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure design principles are integrated throughout our product development processes.
Foster an environment where creativity and innovation are encouraged, leading to high-quality, impactful design outputs. Champion an approach within the company ensuring that a design mind-set is embedded in the company culture.
Ideally, you have:
Proven track record of managing and delivering high-impact design projects, ideally within a SaaS environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field (preferred but not required). Equivalent practical experience is also highly valued.
Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining design systems, with a strong understanding of UI/UX best practices to ensure consistency and quality in product interfaces.
A compelling portfolio that showcases a variety of design projects, including workflows, complex interactions, and visual design.
Experience in user research and applying user feedback to enhance product design.
Experience working closely with engineering, product management, and marketing teams to align design strategies with business goals and user needs.

- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
Lyrebird Health is seeking a highly motivated Senior Product Designer to join our rapidly growing team to solve some big problems in healthcare. Currently, health practitioners are battling the burden of clinical documentation. It is a driving force behind clinician burn out and unsustainable work hours; ultimately depriving them of being able to deliver the best care for their patients.
That’s where Lyrebird Health comes in. We have the privilege of striving to automate all non-patient facing tasks for healthcare professionals, so they are free to be at their best.
Building simple solutions to big problems is what we are here to do. As our second Product Designer you will play a pivotal role in our growing team to achieve this. You will be working closely with our product engineering to create intuitive designs for Lyrebird Health, specifically on our AI-driven clinical documentation experience.
We are ideally looking for someone who has a broad range of experiences in end-to-end product design and implementation. Strong visual design skills are preferable, familiarity using/or building Design Systems and you enjoy rapid prototyping, testing and learning from users.
We are a small, well-funded, and fast-growing startup (and I mean, seriously fast). This means that there are many perks that other opportunities cannot offer, including:
What you can expect in the role:
Extreme ownership: You will have a lot of autonomy and will be able to make many design decisions.
High impact: As a highly adopted, everyday product - everything you make will impact the workflows of thousands of practitioners.
Broader responsibilities and roles: You will wear many hats - product design, product marketing, strategy, research, product growth. As we’re small, someone who is more of a generalist will thrive in this role.
Opportunity to grow the role: In such a formative phase of the design team, you will be well-positioned to take on new and exciting roles as they become available. Working side-by-side with Head of Design, you will play an influential role in shaping the design culture and rituals at Lyrebird Health.
Salary and equity options are flexible and dependent on the experience of the right candidate.
What we expect from you
A broad range of design experiences: Experiences in a variety of industries solving complex business and user problems. Demonstrable ability in translating deep customer problems into simple solutions and experiences**.** Ideally having experience in start-ups and/or fast-paced working environment as a product designer, with at least 3+ years in industry.
End-to-end product design: Experience with driving product discovery, confident in visualising and prototyping design concepts to quickly communicate and iterate on ideas with others and delivering detailed solutions. Ability to conduct research and translate large sets of qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights and solutions at speed.
Communicating with clarity and transparency: Ability to convey opinions, thoughts, and feelings with other teammates, founders, and customers. Honest, thoughtful, and transparent communication is critical.
Zooming in and out of the detail: You are obsessed with the details and admire magical product experiences - we're a detailed-oriented company. Yet, can act with clarity on the tension that may come with shipping value fast.
Comfortable (even thriving) in ambiguity: Shifting deadlines, limited processes and trade-offs are inevitable. Comfortable being able to pivot and prioritise, able to make pragmatic trade-offs while moving forward towards the bigger, strategic goal in mind.
Highly-collaborative, while embracing ownership: Experience working closely with with cross-functional team members, such as product managers and engineers to plan, prioritise, and deliver projects. Owning the part you have to play in initiatives, able to embrace the fear of failure and reflecting on how to always improve.
A great, self-driven attitude: This is an opportunity to be involved in an exciting early stage company from the very start. Being comfortable with the uncomfortable and willing to learn and adapt to what’s around you to get the job done.
Nice to haves
Strong background in Visual Design.
Ability to execute on odd-jobs leaning more into marketing, branding and social media content where necessary.
A foundational understanding of front-end development.
Product Management skills.
Broad experiences in running a variety of qualitative and quantitative research activities.
Health care industry experience.
Important note: Lyrebird Health is a hybrid-working company, leaning more towards in-person as we are in such an exciting, formative phase of the company. We are currently striving towards a 3 days in office, 2 days from home split.
If you’re excited about a role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points listed above, we still encourage you to apply or reach out.
If you’re a builder at heart, share our company values, and enthusiastic about making beautiful and usable software, we want to hear from you.

POSTED May 13
UI / UX Designer (Contract) at mprs
- Design
- Fulltime
- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
mprs is looking for a UI / UX designer to redesign our music royalty administration portal. We’re looking for an opinionated, independent worker with broad experience in product and design to overhaul our product from the design system up.
About the Project
Our current site is a single page app with a basic bootstrap theme. It’s served us well but now we’ve proven out the value of our product and want to overhaul the design for a growing customer base. We need something that:
Looks sleek and professional (i.e. not our engineer’s bootstrap template)
Can present a lot of complicated information clearly
Acts as a foundation, i.e. a design system we can use to build future functionality.
The ideal deliverable would be an overhauled design system as well as a re-design of the current portal using the new design system. The current portal consists of 5 or 6 fairly complicated pages. You would work closely with our principal engineer on implementation and have extensive access to all stakeholders for requirements gathering. We’d like to accomplish this in roughly 2 months, but can be flexible on timeline.
Who you are
You have 4+ years experience in UI, UX, product, and/or web design.
You have strong convictions about your work and make decisions in service of clear objectives, not generic design dogmas.
You like to work independently. You reach out to the relevant people on your own when you need information, guidance, or feedback. You don’t need (or want) to be checked in on constantly.
You have experience extending and / or building design systems, you think of design in terms of building blocks and how they relate to each other to form a whole.
You know how to structure a lot of complicated and varied data in a simple and intuitive way.
Your designs look good on the page, they’re “hip.”
Your designs account for real world conditions: long load times, unusually large strings, errors, etc.
Nice-to-haves
You’ve worked on B2B / SaaS / dashboard products.
You have experience with data visualization, related libraries.
You have experience in the music industry.
You’re good at picking and pairing fonts.
You have experience building responsive, mobile-friendly designs.
You won’t try to implement Tailwind.
Mission
Founded in 2021, mprs (pronounced “Empress”) is a Series A stage music-tech business creating a new category of rights management for music producers and mixers. We advocate for our producer and mixer clients, enabling them to reconsider the way they do business and influencing the direction of the overall industry.
Company
We are a small team of music industry and royalty experts who have banded together to solve a complex set of administrative challenges on behalf of some of the most important creatives in music. We’ve raised money from key music industry professionals. Our technology is proven and in use by multiple top-tier music producers and mixers.

Job Description
What will you be doing?
Experience Designers are responsible for the design of digitally enabled products and services. You will use your broad skillset across the service, interaction, and visual design domains to craft holistic design solutions, from early-stage idea generation through detailed design of product service features and user stories in a digital product.
As a Senior Experience Designer, you are expected to represent depth in the craft of experience design: as an individual contributor, as a mentor and guide for more junior colleagues, and as a contributor to the community of practice. You will often be the backbone of your projects from beginning to end. You will plan, prioritize, and deliver service design activities autonomously, in the context of cross-functional projects. You will lead client conversations within your domain, providing articulate recommendations and helping guide client choices.
In this specific role, you will join a bustling and collaborative team that leads the digital product discovery and design for a global Quick Service Restaurant – one that feeds 1% of the world’s population every single day. You will play a central role in the entire lifecycle of a digital product, from research through detailed design, partnering closely with Product Management and Engineering (who are as passionate about product as they are burgers and fries). Your product areas might be focused on things like mobile ordering, loyalty, kiosk, crew facing restaurant technology, or web, just to name a few. This is a hybrid position; three days per week you’ll link up with your team IRL at this global company’s headquarters in Chicago’s burgeoning West Loop.
Your fellow team members will rely on you to:
Embrace being a self-starter with high agency, diving deep into the entire product design lifecycle, from user research to detailed design
Partner with other designers, product managers, and technology leads to drive alignment around user needs, and rally around lovable and feasible customer-first solutions
Be able to zoom out to define holistic digital product and convergent experience concepts, in collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Strategy, Operations, etc.)
Be curious and connect the “why” behind design decisions to the business’s goals
Bring clarity to all through your design craft, especially when things feel ambiguous
Apply systems thinking into actionable user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs
Thrive in a team that values open sharing of WIP and is committed to a culture of collective brainstorming
Support a successful knowledge transfer of designs to the development team, co-writing component specifications with adherence to accessibility standards
In this role, you will:
Understand goals, business requirements and constraints, market opportunities and user needs to help define opportunity areas and experience requirements
Plan, conduct, and synthesize research, testing and prototyping with users and SMEs
Design wireframes, screens, and prototypes to illustrate product behavior along defined use cases
Map existing and future experiences, both front and backstage users who are involved, through journey maps, blueprints, and ecosystem maps
Together with cross-disciplinary teams, create digital product experiences that push the bar for the current and future customer and user experience
Help define new product/service value propositions and influence roadmaps
Craft compelling narratives that bridge user aspirations with business objectives
Design wireframes, screens, and prototypes to illustrate product behavior along defined use cases
Mentor and develop other designers
We want you to have:
8+ years of professional experience in experience/interaction design (although you might have had a different job title, like “UX Designer”), and a robust practical and theoretical grounding in experience design through your studies or through your previous experience
Ability to work onsite at company headquarters in Chicago three days per week
Familiarity with articulating and incorporating accessibility standards and guidelines into design documents and specifications
A passion for understanding customer and user needs, as well as experience working with UX researchers and conducting UX research
Exemplary core design skills, demonstrated in your portfolio of recent work
A love of learning new things and growing your skills by diving in head-first to the task at hand
Excellent presentation skills, with a strong ability to clearly explain your work to others
Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams
A deep knowledge of and expertise using design and prototyping tools (such as Figma) and design language systems
Affinity for frog’s values, and a passion for creating products that meet peoples’ functional and emotional needs
Experience working in an agile product delivery environment
Business level ability to conduct business in English
