- Be curious and inclusive. We are decisive but able to change our minds based on new information. We seek to understand alternative points of view. We are hungry to learn about new ideas. We actively solicit different perspectives. We are low ego.
- Show a bias for action. We won’t have perfect information so we make the best decisions we can and work to deliver results. We make 2-way door decisions quickly and are more considered with 1-way door decisions.
- Take smart risks. We believe smart failures with validated learning are wins. We appreciate when people say: I don’t know (but I’ll get back to you), I was wrong (and here’s what I have learned), I need help (and here is what you can do.)
- Take Care of Each Other. We set high standards for each other, but we also realize every day can’t be our best day. We earn the trust of our teammates. We make work fun. Copywriter at Motion
- Content Copy Writing
- Fulltime
- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
Motion is growing fast (3x YoY), our product is sticky (120%+ Net Revenue Retention) and we recently raised $6M in seed funding. But we’re just getting started and we need your help.
We’re building a new category of software to bridge the gap between performance marketers and creative teams.
Our creative analytics platform offers fast, visual reporting for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube ads to help teams understand what’s working and why.
Our customers are top ecom and DTC brands like Vuori, True Classic, The Farmer’s Dog, HexClad and hundreds more. They’ve used Motion to analyze over $3B in media spend.
A strong community is forming around Motion, and we have many exciting product features in the roadmap.
Your job as a Senior Copywriter will be to write incredible content and dream up creative executions that help us reach DTC and ecom brands.
About The Role
We’ve already built early success with our inbound content, incredible virtual events, and rock-solid product-market fit.
We’re going to keep blowing up our content, swing bigger with events, and expand our content distribution in 2024.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who can help us create exceptional organic content including long-form email newsletters, research reports filled with unique insights, landing pages, video scripts, and the occasional ad campaign concept.
We serve DTC and ecommerce brands who make a lot of ads and are always looking for ways to increase their performance with TikTok, Meta, and YouTube advertising.
Our audience loves learning about advertising formats, new tactics in ad platforms, and performance marketing strategies.
Having an interest in performance advertising and DTC ad trends is critical as we need to produce exceptional educational content to stand out.
The best person for this role is a writer by trade. And as a writer, you understand that anyone can write words. What matters in B2B is finding original, business-changing insights and stories that other people miss.
You know how to conduct qualitative research, find the story, and above all—deliver incredible recommendations that people can immediately apply to improve their DTC or ecom advertising strategy.
The best person for this role is comfortable mastering the fast-moving world of DTC advertising. There is a lot of noise in this space, people need tactical advice not marketing pontifications, and asking ChatGPT for the answers—that ain’t gonna cut it.
You’ll need natural curiosity, combined with investigative journalist research techniques and top-tier writing skills.
Your job will be to uncover the best techniques from real operators in the DTC world, crystallize that knowledge into compelling hooks, and deliver exceptional educational content that helps our customers do their jobs better.
Bonus points if you’re interested in using first-party data (with help from analysts) to craft original research and benchmarks.
You’ll have lots of support to achieve all these things. And plenty of room to pitch new ideas for content programs, the space to think and write, and design and video resources to bring your insights to life.
Specifically, We’ll Ask That You
Write Thumbstop issues: Thumbstop is our weekly newsletter that is read by Heads of Growth and creative strategists at ecom and DTC brands. We aim to produce high-quality, original research that competitors can’t easily copy.
Weekly social posts: once we’ve created content, we need to transpose it into different social platforms. You’ll build your LinkedIn and Twitter writing skills with regular output.
Write our Creative Benchmarks Report: We want to turn our 1st party data into an original research report that we release bi-yearly. This involves defining the research questions, working with an analyst to pull data, and finding the big story to bring to our audience.
Video scripts & feature launches: you’ll use your concepting muscles to write exciting video scripts, landing pages, and social copy for product launches.
Pitch ideas & content series: you’ve got lots of ideas, so if you’re thinking about a new content series, let’s find more resources to make it a reality.
You’ll have a lot of support as you figure things out.
We are all low-ego people and collaborative.
You’ll report to our Head of Content and have design, web development, and video resources.
Who You Are
- You’re a writer first. You hunt for big ideas and original insights.
- You’re a skilled qualitative researcher with some interest in statistics and data analysis.
- You’re good at working with sales and customer success teams to source insights.
- You ship work and hit deadlines like a pro.
- 5+ years in B2B content marketing roles
- Bonus points: you’ve worked for a DTC brand, ecommerce company, or performance marketing agency.
How To Apply
With your application, please submit three writing samples. These can be links to live work, your portfolio, or simple PDFs. Please upload these as links on your resume, attached as additional files along with your resume, or in the designated file upload section if applying on Lever.
- Long-form writing sample: This should be a research-driven piece of content such as a PDF guide, a long-form YouTube video you scripted, a blog post, or a newsletter issue.
- Persuasive writing sample: This should be more sales-focused such as a website homepage, a landing page, a product feature page, or a short video script.
- A short-form piece of content: This should be more high-concept. You could include a social media post, an Instagram or LinkedIn carousel, an ad campaign you worked on, or a video ad you worked on.
What You’ll Love About Motion
- Fully remote team with incredible offsites and retreats to build camaraderie. Our last retreat was a week-long stay at Lake Muskoka.
- We’ve found product market fit but we’re still so early that you will have a major impact.
- We’re a tech company with all the standard startup benefits: Great vacation policies, health care, modern tech, home office budget etc.
- Our team is very ambitious, super capable and low on egos
- Our customers are some of the leading brands and agencies in D2C e-commerce
- We want Motion’s impact in the “creative-tech” industry to be up there with the Webflows, Canvas and Figmas of the world.
- We have a deep understanding of the problem space through many years of tinkering in the industry.
- We know exactly what it’s going to take for Motion to win.
- We’d love for you to join us on the ride!

Writer/Editor at Supercritical
- Content Copy Writing
- Fulltime
- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
Job Description
The climate crisis is the single-biggest threat to humanity. Our mission is to be the global carbon removal partner for the world’s most innovative and disruptive companies. We're building software to enable companies to understand their climate impact and purchase high quality carbon removal offsets. We are thrilled to have recently raised our $13m Series A, led by Lightspeed Ventures to accelerate this journey.
Join us to help carbon removal technologies to scale so that the planet is ready for net zero by 2050! Come and help us save the planet!
Why is Carbon Removal Critical?
Carbon removal includes nature-based solutions like biochar and cutting-edge technologies that literally pull carbon from the sky and store it underground for millennia. We need to scale to remove 10 billion tons a year by 2050 to stay below 1.5 degrees of warming. This is over 14,000x the rate we are removing carbon at today. We've only removed a few thousand tonnes to date. This will be a trillion dollar industry by 2050.
About The Marketing Team
Reporting into the Director of Marketing you’ll work to build Marketing almost from scratch. We have big ambitions to create and scale the carbon removal market. Marketing is critical to that. Joining our small yet experienced team means you’ll have direct impact not only on what Marketing at Supercritical looks like but also how the world gets to net zero by 2050.
What Are We Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced Writer & Editor who isn’t afraid of turning deeply complex and technical concepts and scientific information into editorial content and copy that educates, informs, and drives people to take action. ChatGPT doesn’t scare you, it propels your productivity and keeps your editing eye sharp.
You’ve maybe spent time in busy newsrooms or scrappy startups with high velocity content requirements. It’s likely you’ve created long-form content on topics like science, technology, climate, or finance. You don’t just respond to briefs. You bring your ideas and experience to elevate the wider content strategy and not just creating awesome editorial.
Requirements
- Create authoritative, insightful content that is a go-to resource for our customers and wider audience. You do this with thorough research on complex topics in climate technology and by partnering with internal and external climate experts. Then you produce long-form editorial pieces, such as reports, analysis, in-depth articles, and thought leadership essays.
- Refine and edit content produced by freelancers and other team members, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and a high-quality standard. Mentor other team members, helping them develop their writing skills and subject matter expertise.
- Help us develop and build the voice of Supercritical into a distinguished, recognised one.
- Extreme responsiveness to opportunities, both internal and external (e.g. new carbon removal methods, climate regulation changes). You act like a proactive journalist, always on the lookout for the next compelling climate story that makes people care.
- Contribute to the wider content strategy, supporting the Content Marketing Manager with your insight and experience to build an industry-defining strategy.
What Values Can You Expect From Your Colleagues?
We have set ourselves the mission of leading the carbon removal market to 14,000x its current size by 2050. In order to do that we need brave adventurers that think huge and deliver at speed. We call this the 14,000x mindset. The key components of the 14,000x mindset are:
- Ownership mentality: We relish autonomy and we create it for others. We are deeply curious and thrive on understanding the root cause of complex problems. We take ownership over our own and our team’s development by giving and soliciting direct and actionable feedback.
- Move fast: We identify the most important problems to solve and cut everything else. We test ideas early so we don’t waste time on dead ends. We default to action and deliver awesome results.
- Radiate positive energy: We come to problems with energy and passion. We nurture new ideas and engage positively in testing them. We inspire our colleagues to go further and are resilient to set backs. We recharge by taking time off. We are here for a great day, not a long day.
- Communicate proactively: We communicate simply and directly. We broadcast updates, insights and lessons learnt, especially when things haven’t gone to plan. We give as much context as possible so our teammates can make great decisions.
Benefits
Salary: £47,500 - £57,500 per annum
- Generous stock options
- Unlimited annual leave
- 1 company-wide day off every month
- Hybrid working: remote first with option to work from a London office 1-2 days per week
- £1000 annual wellbeing allowance
- £500 working-from-home equipment budget
- Monthly company socials
- Purchase high quality carbon removal offsets for your personal emissions from our inventory
Diversity and Inclusion
We’ve been committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace since day one of the company. We’re the only company we’re aware of with a 50:50 gender balanced list of investors and our day to day processes are always defined with D&I in mind, for example our remote first policy and flexibility around working time.
We are excited to encourage applications and interest from individuals underrepresented in the climate and tech space. Climate change and climate justice is a social issue that cuts across race and gender. We welcome applicants with lived experience across these issues.
Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire.
Applicants from outside the UK
- UK Work Sponsorship: Unfortunately, at this stage of our growth, we are unable to offer UK sponsorship to applicants.
- Candidates who live outside the UK who are not looking to live and work in the UK, are within 3 hours of the GMT/BST timezone and are willing to travel to London quarterly are encouraged to apply. Please note we will use an Employer of Record arrangement in these circumstances.

- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
The Muse is looking for an established SEO Writer to report and write engaging and thoughtful SEO articles on TheMuse.com and Fairygodboss.com. This writer has a proven track record of publishing content in English that secures and maintains top positions in Google search results for high-volume, U.S.-based keywords. Your writing experience also comes with original reporting chops and you can distinguish credible sources from media-hungry, say-anything figures and ground your work in expert-backed insights. A passion for the career space is ideal.
What You’ll Do
- Report and write monthly editorial assignments based on a mix of updating top-performing pieces as well as targeting new SEO keywords
- Work closely with the SEO Editor and VP, Content and Brand to optimize SEO articles for Google’s E-E-A-T criteria as well as The Muse’s style guidelines
- Work closely with the social media and video teams to repackage articles for key off-site platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
- Brainstorm and write non-SEO articles that are instead social/email plays or news-based as needed.
Who You Are
- Established reporter/writer with bylines on reputable service journalism outlets (self-published articles on Medium and similar platforms do not meet this standard)
- Strong reporter with a knack for identifying and securing credible sources; can craft thoughtful questions and turn interviews into fresh career advice that the reader wouldn’t have come up with on their own
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to file multiple stories a day that are free of typos, grammatical errors, and/or inaccuracies
- Proactive and competitive personality, someone who naturally seeks out new SEO opportunities and wants The Muse and Fairygodboss to maintain their status as go-to career resources for professionals
- Strong time-management and a proven ability to meet deadlines

Japanese Content Writer at Speak
- Content Copy Writing
- Fulltime
- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
Our mission is to become the de facto way people learn foreign languages. We begin by teaching the next billion people English and Spanish.
English is the global language of business, culture, and communication, and over 1.5 billion people around the world are actively trying to learn right now. Others dream of communicating with the half-billion native Spanish speakers across the globe. The problem is that it's nearly impossible to learn to speak a language without constant access to a speaking partner. Grammar and vocab apps don't really help – you need to actually converse with someone.
Speak is on a journey to fix this. We're creating an AI-powered experience that replicates the flow of a conversation, without needing a human on the other end. The goal is to make it radically more accessible to be able to have conversations in a foreign language and eventually help hundreds of millions of people gain fluency who otherwise wouldn't be able to.
We started on this journey over five years ago and we've still got a long ways to go. We're thoughtfully adding new team members only when we think they can truly play a big role in our mission.
Speak launched first in South Korea where we have quickly grown to become the top grossing education app in the country. We have now delivered this winning product to more than 30 countries globally and are continuing to expand to more markets in the coming months. The company is well funded, raising a recent Series B backed by investors like OpenAI, Founders Fund, Y Combinator, Khosla Ventures, Lachy Groom, Josh Buckley, and others. We’re a team of 50 based primarily in SF, Seoul, and Ljubljana.
About This Role
We are looking for a full-time Japanese English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) content writer to join Speak’s content team in creating high-quality language learning in-app content for the Japanese market.
We are looking for a superstar writer and curriculum developer who understands Japanese English learners' thought processes when approaching English learning. We seek someone who has a full understanding of Japanese and English as languages AND has a history of successfully teaching or creating learning modules/materials for English learners in Japan.
In addition to script-writing, teaching, and curriculum expertise, we also want this role to have a strong product sense and understanding of how best teaching and technology can be integrated through content.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Curriculum design and writing - Design curriculum and write learning materials (e.g., lesson scripts, activities, vocabulary lists) in a systematic way for English learners (and especially Japanese English learners) at different levels of English proficiency.
- Manage or facilitate content projects - Either having end-to-end ownership or participating in content projects from content planning to writing, to production all the way to launch.
- Content maintenance and iteration - Iterate and polish content based on QA, user testing, user feedback, and/or peer review.
- Translation and localization - Perform English-Japanese translation and localization for in-app learning and marketing content.
- Content development and prototyping - Participate in developing innovative learning content powered by advanced AI (artificial intelligence) and ML (machine learning) technology.
- Content strategies and decision-making - Participate in content team meetings, discussions, and decision-making; As a member of the Japan content team, facilitate the development of content strategies that suit Japan’s market needs and are aligned with the company's vision and goals.
- Communication and collaboration with international team members - This can take place face-to-face, remotely, asynchronously, or through business travel, whichever makes sense.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience and expertise in English teaching curriculum design and pedagogy
- Strong curriculum planning and writing skills
- Native Japanese and near-native English writing and speaking skills
- Deep understanding of the status quo of English learning in Japan and empathy for Japanese English learners
- Strong product sense when designing and writing content with great attention to detail
- Strong willingness and collaboration skills for content planning, operations, and strategy
- Passion for technology-assisted language learning and willingness to learn and use advanced technologies for all aspects of work (Notion, internal tools, etc.)
- A fast learner, team player, skilled communicator, and creative problem-solver.
Nice To Have
- Translation/localization experience preferred
- Content development and project management experience preferred
- Basic data analytics knowledge and experience preferred.
Why Work at Speak
- Join a fantastic, tight-knit team at the right time: we're growing super quickly, we just raised our Series B and an additional extension from some of the top investors in the valley, and we've achieved product-market fit in our initial markets. You'd join at a magical time when a single person could significantly change the course of the company.
- Do your life's work with people you’ll love working with: we care strongly about our craft and want every person at Speak to feel like they're growing every day. We believe in the idea that working with people you both enjoy and have respect for makes everything better. We hire thoughtfully and only work with people we admire deeply.
- Global in nature: We're live in over 30 countries and launching in a number of new markets soon. We have dedicated offices in San Francisco, Ljubljana, Seoul, and Tokyo, and you’ll have the opportunity to talk to users in each of these regions on a regular basis as well as travel.
- Impact people's lives in a major way: Learning a language is one of the single most life-changing skills one can learn, and right now 99% of people never achieve their goal because the process is broken. We’re helping millions of people achieve their goals and improve their lives.
