Product Manager, Nursing (Staff/Senior) at Abridge
Job Description
Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform was purpose-built for medical conversations, improving clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—their patients.
Our enterprise-grade technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations. Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across health systems.
We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense.
The Role

You will play a key role in expanding our footprint into inpatient conversations and supporting nurses, who are a key part of the care team. In this role, you will work closely with internal engineering, design, machine learning, and clinical team members as well as external partners, to deliver zero-to-one features.
What You’ll Do
Lead and own product lifecycle, working with cross-functional teams and incorporating data and research to inform product strategies and roadmaps.
Ensure product success by measuring and proposing new initiatives to improve user adoption, retention, and satisfaction.
Keep team members and stakeholders highly aligned with roadmap prioritization updates and decisions, and ensure user and technical issues are promptly prioritized and resolved.
Engage broadly with the organization to identify, prioritize, frame, and structure product strategy for our Nursing initiative.
Assist the overall product team in implementing methodologies, tools, and systems that provide visibility and increase efficiencies and productivity.
Develop an ongoing relationship with customers and partners that are integral in driving Abridge’s goals to gather requests and feature ideas and prioritize them within our larger strategy context.
Weigh technical tradeoffs and lead in-depth discussions with scientists and engineers on the nuances and interactions of complex AI systems.
Understand AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, and data science principles; and understand standard and emerging tools.
Support compliance with security and privacy regulations related to healthcare data.
What You’ll Bring
5+ years experience building, shipping and enhancing SaaS products
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Experience building products with natural language processing (NLP)
Clinical background or experience with clinical products, ideally in the nursing space
A passion for understanding the nursing clinical practice
Startup experience and extreme comfort with ambiguity
Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated critical thinking capabilities
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Understanding when to be scrappy v. when to be a perfectionist
Ability to introduce new best practices as we scale
We value people who want to learn new things, and we know that great team members might not perfectly match a job description. If you’re interested in the role but aren’t sure whether or not you’re a good fit, we’d still like to hear from you.
Must be willing to travel up to 10%
Abridge typically hosts a 3 day builder team retreat every 3-6 months. These retreats often feature internal hackathons, collaborative project sessions, and social events that provide the team with opportunities to connect.
Why Work at Abridge?
Be a part of a trailblazing, mission driven organization that uses audio as the wedge to improve the healthcare delivery experience
Unlimited PTO for salaried team members, plus 12 national holidays
Comprehensive and generous benefits package:
16 weeks paid parental leave, for all employees
Flexible working hours — we care more about what you accomplish than what specific hours you’re working
Remote work environment
Equity for all new employees
Generous equipment budget for your home office setup ($1600)
Opportunity to work and grow with talented individuals, and have ownership and impact at a high growth startup.
Plus much more!
Life at Abridge
At Abridge, we’re driven by our mission to bring understanding and follow-through to every medical conversation. Our culture is founded on doing things the “inverse” way in a legacy system—focusing on patients, instead of the system; focusing on outcomes, instead of billing; and focusing on the end-user experience, instead of a hospital administrator's mandate.
Abridgers are engineers, scientists, designers, and health policy experts from a diverse set of backgrounds—an experiment in alchemy that helps us transform an industry dominated by EHRs and enterprise into a consumer-driven experience, one recording at a time. We believe in strong ideas, loosely held, and place a high premium on a growth mindset. We push each other to grow and expose each other to the latest in our respective fields. Whether it’s holding a PhD-level deep dive into understanding fairness and underlying bias in machine learning models, debating the merits of a Scandinavian design philosophy in our UI/UX, or writing responses for Medicare rules to influence U.S. health policy, we prioritize sharing our findings across the team and helping each other be successful.
Diversity & Inclusion
Abridge is an equal opportunity employer. Diversity and inclusion is at the core of what we do. We actively welcome applicants from all backgrounds (including but not limited to race, gender, educational background, and sexual orientation).

Our Front-End Product Engineers are roamers, they move between projects and teams as needed, working on the things that will deliver the most value to customers. The last bastion of the product experience and the first thing our customers see, we are looking for some of the best product-focussed Angular engineers in the business.
What you will be working on
You will be an important part of our product and engineering team, focusing on delivering magical user experiences to our hosts.
We are currently a fully-distributed team of 4 product managers, 15 backend engineers, and 2 frontend engineers. We're hiring for this role to help us keep pace with the amazing work that our product and backend engineers are delivering.
After a few weeks onboarding, you'll dive right into feature development; building, improving and owning the experience that we deliver to hosts and their guests.
- Partner with product, sales, customer success and other engineers to develop, ship and own features that solve problems for our hosts.
- Help us shape the product - Use your knowledge and skills to help shape and improve something. (You won't get perfect specs and be expected to just execute on them)
- Move fast, look for opportunities to simplify, figure out how work can be broken into smaller chunks to ship an MVP sooner, or provide value to hosts faster.
- Work with Ewelina, one of our incredible sales team, whose favourite fruit is Star fruit.
- Use your engineering chops to build magical user experiences, ship them, iterate on them, take ownership and accountability for making sure they are as good as they can be.
- Implement and use observability tooling to help you achieve the above. We use LogRocket and Sentry to help us track and debug production features.
- Provide input on how the frontend codebases can be maintained and improved
As an engineering team we are all in on Laravel and Angular. Our self-defined tech stack acronym is 🌴 PALM-B; PHP, Angular, Laravel, MySQL and Beanstalk.
Requirements
Hospitable.com is a remote-only and distributed company. For this position, your location is not a requirement. The ideal fit would be based in, and work under, European timezones.
If you're hesitant to apply for this position because you feel that you don't meet this list of qualifications fully, don't worry! We want to hear from you.
- A 'shipping' mentality - you get kicks from seeing real customers using your features, receiving feedback from them and iterating/improving on it.
- Your compass points towards customer and business value, over perfect code (if such a thing exists)
- We build in Angular, so experience with modern Angular, RxJS and TailWind.
- Bonus points if you've worked much on hybrid mobile apps (Ionic or similar), or worked with web components.
- Everything else is a lovely bonus that we're excited to hear about!
Benefits
The company itself is also a product, one that we iterate on. We're always improving and creating an environment where we all love to work.
- A supportive and caring team environment, where you are trusted, not managed.
- The total budget for this role is within $121,005.00 - $152,053.00 depending on the cost of living in your location. We can hire talent internationally as contractors—or employees if you are based in the United States, the European Union, or Australia, taking into account payroll taxes to determine your gross compensation.
- We also offer an extra incentive into our equity with RSUs (through our $HOST token).
- 35 days off per year, encouraged (including self-serve public holidays) and parental leave.
- Mental-health and emotional support with therapists on call through Slack.
- Recognized on Inc.’s list of Best Workplaces for 2023.
