Product Lead: zapEHR headless EHR at MassLight
Job Description
Seeking a product lead with experience developing EHR and/or medical SaaS products.
zapEHR is an on-demand cloud computing platform for rapidly building and deploying next-generation health-tech software. Just like AWS provides APIs and hosting infrastructure to support database transactions, identity management and microservice hosting, zapEHR provides the APIs and infrastructure for EHR functions like clinical encounter documentation, electronic Rx orders, billing management, and all the other features necessary to build an EHR.
zapEHR exists because there is an innovation log-jam in health-tech software. It is prohibitively difficult to modify existing EHRs to better support clinicians and patients with custom features, UIs or workflows. Integrations with third party vendors or partner organizations are sandboxed. Data is siloed, interoperability is crippled.
We are hiring a senior product lead with experience overseeing EHRs or similar health tech products. This person will work closely with our engineering, design, and operations teams to establish the direction for the future of the platform by maintaining a product roadmap and competitive analysis, tracking regulatory hurdles, conducting market research, and interfacing with clinical orgs using the platform.

Product Manager, Data Foundations at Datavant
Job Description

By eliminating data silos in the healthcare industry, we unlock opportunities to accelerate medical research, and help organizations design better ways to facilitate access, affordability, and quality of care leading to better patient outcomes. We’re looking for a professional to join our Product Management team.
By joining Datavant today, you are stepping into a highly collaborative, fully remote team that is passionate about creating transformative change in healthcare. We look for people who are smart, nice and get things done. We invest in our people and believe in hiring for high-potential and humble individuals who can rapidly grow their responsibilities as the company scales. Datavant is a distributed, remote-first team (no office locations) and we empower Datavanters to shape their working environment in a way that suits their needs -- learn more here!
The Data Foundation team is building a database to power best-in-world efficiency & yield and provide a unified foundation for all Datavant applications involved in the exchange of identified health data. Data Foundation aims to create the best quality and most comprehensive database in the industry on provider & physician relationships, contact information, how to connect to them, and more.
About the Role
You will set the vision for what success looks like, determine how to use the organization’s resources to get there, and drive execution by motivating and hands-on doing. You will:
- Set the vision for your product by outlining the customer need, how we solve the problem, and how this will evolve in 3 months, 1 year, and 5 years from now.
- Be customer centric by obsessing about solving the customer’s problem. You engage with customers and customer-facing teams on a daily basis and see shipping features as just one tool in your toolkit.
- Be decisive by identifying current and future areas of ambiguity and providing direction along with reasoning and analysis. Others see you as a source of authority, reinforced by your exceptional judgment on a range of issues, including business, technical and organizational and an ability to articulate your perspective effectively.
- Drive execution by writing great product requirements that provide clarity and motivation for what we need to build. You will be noted for your ability to generate workable solutions, avoid potholes, take good ideas from wherever they come, all anchored by a complete understanding of the systems your product touches and the ways in which they are used in practice. As part of the requirement development process, you know how to lead discussions and bring others along with you.
- Drive adoption by working closely across an organization. You add value to this process by removing objections and roadblocks; you get value from this process by getting a firsthand view of how the product is received.
- Be a leader through example and attitude.
About You
- You have 5+ years in technical product management, product strategy, or a similar role, ideally at a B2B health tech or health care company.
- You are data-centric and have a passion for data structures and algorithms. Bonus points if you’ve tackled an enterprise-wide database product.
- You are thoughtful about your work, knowing when to zoom in on details and zoom out on the bigger picture. You love understanding the reasons behind decisions and raise creative solutions in solving problems.
- You are highly organized and are able to keep track of multiple threads easily. Team members are confident in a product outcome when they know you’re owning it.
- You have high bandwidth and high productivity; others wonder where you find time to do all you do. Your secret is that you are quick to understand, formulate and respond.
- You write exceptional documents, presentations, diagrams, and mockups. Your documentation leads to discussions about the content, not about what is intended.
- You are a great communicator and have the confidence to lead planning meetings with anyone or any group within the company. You have the ability to explain strategies, rationales and products in terms that each audience can understand.
- You are motivated by getting stuff done. You are wired to both set the big vision and to make continual steps towards that vision. Neither vision setting nor execution is satisfactory by itself to you - you want both.
- You are a team player. You always put yourself in other’s positions and understand their motivations, needs, perspectives and potential points of confusion. You know that winning together is the best way to win.
- You are proactive. You define how the product should evolve and bias to action.
We are committed to building a diverse team of Datavanters who are smart, nice, and get things done, where every Datavanter is empowered to bring their authentic self to their work. We are all responsible for stewarding a high-performance culture in which every Datavanter belongs and can thrive. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences.
Our compensation philosophy is to be externally competitive, internally fair, and not win or lose on compensation. Salary ranges are developed with the support of benchmarks (competitive San Francisco rates for US-based roles) and industry best practices.
We’re building a high-growth, high-autonomy culture. We rely less on job titles and more on cultivating an environment where anyone can contribute, the best ideas win, and personal growth is driven by expanding impact and less by title. This means we default to simple job titles (e.g., Software Engineer) rather than complex ones (e.g., Senior Software Engineer). The range posted is for a given job title, which can include multiple levels. Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $150,000 - $230,000.
At the end of this application, you will find a set of voluntary demographic questions. If you choose to respond, your responses will be used to help us identify areas of improvement in our recruitment process. We can only see aggregate responses and are unable to view individual responses. In fact, we aren’t even able to see if you’ve responded or not! Responding is your choice and it will not be used in any way in our hiring process.
