A bail bond is a bond provided by an insurance company through a bail bondsman acting as agent for the company, to allow an accused defendant to be released before trial. A bail bond is designed to ensure the appearance of the defendant in court at the scheduled time.The Bonds area of the Circuit Criminal Department is responsible for receiving all bonds related to all criminal cases. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Perform complex data entry for docketing functions; creates entry for each document; monitors image for quality and clarity- Screens filings to facilitate redaction of qualifying information- Receives, scans, assigns, disburses bond related material for Criminal Operations- Forwards filings to the Court or the appropriate functional area as warranted- Prepares notice of bond forfeitures; issues judgments, processes written orders; records bookings; sets court hearings and notice parties- Assists customers in person and by phone- Maintains established organizational/departmental productivity standardsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma (or GED), supplemented by three (3) years of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to accurately apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data, preferably in an automated systems environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Some vocational or college courses preferred. Once qualified, deputization may be required to perform the assigned functions.
