The technical challenge is to build performant and reliable frontend applications with excellent UI/UX that is used by thousands of users daily!

Frontend Engineers work directly on the product. Mainly building and maintaining Papershift’s Web applications. They work with peers on teams dedicated to areas of the product. They work together with product owners, designers, QA engineers and backend engineers to solve common goals.

Your areas of responsibilities include:

Base

  • Develop features and improvements to Papershift’s products in a scalable, well-tested, and performant way.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and other stakeholders within Engineering (Frontend, Mobile, etc..) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
  • Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
  • Consistently ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects.
  • Help improve the overall experience of the product by improving the quality of the Frontend features both in your team and features that benefit other teams.
  • Help identify areas of improvements in the code base, both specific to your team and outside your team and help contribute to making it better
  • Learn, collaborate and teach other Frontend Engineers. Everyone can contribute something new to the team regardless of how long they’ve been in the industry.
  • Fix prioritised issues from the issue tracker. These are typically bugs listed with an attached severity and priority label.
  • Contribute to and follow our workflow process, alongside the rest of the Frontend Engineers.
  • Constantly seeking growth outside of comfort zone by leveraging 1:1 meetings.

Requirments:

  • Knowledge of the Vue.js framework and its core principles such as components, reactivity, and the virtual DOM
  • Good understanding of ES6 + syntax and features
  • Good understanding of HTML5 and CSS3, including Sass
  • Knowledge of mobile-first responsive web development.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Understanding of UX/UI, grid, Flexbox responsive designs.
  • Ability to write efficient, secure, well-documented, and clean JavaScript code
  • Has an understanding of modern development tools, like Babel, Webpack, and Git
  • Experience with consuming RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with automated JavaScript testing, specifically testing frameworks such as Jest
  • Strong self-initiative and excellent analytical skills
  • Fluent in English, excellent communication skills
