The technical writer plays a critical role in providing training documentation for internal and external audiences.

About the opportunity
You’ll join SPOT a part of our Professional Services vertical. The team that provides the support and expertise to specialty care businesses like dry-cleaners and laundry services. We build the platforms they need to support their customers and keep life moving.

Reporting into the Product Manager, the technical writer plays a critical role in providing training documentation for internal and external audiences.

This role is responsible for creating a plan for documenting operational policies and procedures and providing training materials that are clear, organized and consistent with established standards. The technical writer must ensure that customers and support staff have the information that they need in order to make efficient use of the product.

  • Plan, develop, and organize a “roadmap” for documentation needs, in collaboration with various stakeholders
  • Write and edit operational procedures and manuals for varying audiences and for varying purposes
  • Collaborate with the team to develop standards and protocols for project documentation
  • Shadow stakeholders, managers, project managers and IT staff to document processes
  • Manage documentation sites to organize and provide templates for future use
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
  • Manage updates and revisions as needed

Qualifications

What would make me a good candidate?

  • Proven experience working in a technical writing position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products and Confluence
  • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
  • Skilled in prioritization and multi-tasking
  • Strong ability to collaborate with various groups across the organization
  • Ability to adhere to strict production deadlines and deliver materials at a regular, established cadence
