Salary: $25/Hour plus benefits (Non-exempt)


Overview:


The CDC Foundation is seeking a Data Entry Specialist to support the health department by providing data management assistance to the Surveillance Team and Epidemiology Unit.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Public Health, or related field (preferred); or minimum of one (1) year of full-time, professional work experience with data cleaning, data management and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency using data analytics and visualization software (e.g., SAS, ArcGIS, SPSS, SQL, STATA, R, Tableau); Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint); and Adobe Acrobat to prepare documents, graphs, slides, presentations and spreadsheets.
  • Experience in data entry, quality review and handling of sensitive information.
  • Experience organizing, sorting and merging health data. Experience identifying data entry errors and standardization of data.
  • Experience working with confidential, health-related data.


Responsibilities:


  • Will assist with all data entry needs related to entering testing results and other data entry related needs.
  • Responsible for typing, filing, and preparing written material for distribution and mailing.
  • Serve as an integral member of the office management team to provide substantive technical administrative skills.
  • Advise in decisions affecting activities supporting program efforts.
  • Perform basic data management, data cleaning and statistical analysis using SAS, R, or other statistical programming language on data to complete data extracts.
  • Produce and analyze reports for the purposes of monitoring disease trends and providing timely data in support response and to inform the public.
  • Collaborate with agency and external groups providing public health surveillance support and data & analytics support.

This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and US Virgin Islands, in order to best support the US Virgin Islands in their public health programming.


This position is currently a field position. CDC Foundation retains the right to make adjustments to this as required.
