THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced, highly organized and collaborative Marketing Operations leader to drive the continued scale and performance of a rapidly-expanding remote marketing organization. The key charter for this role will be to ensure the marketing organization scales quickly while driving strong business results and achieving shared goals.

The Director of Marketing Operations will oversee the department’s operational functions by ensuring that systems, processes, procedures, and policies are in place to guarantee consistent, smooth, and efficient execution team wide. Your organizational, communication, and leadership skills are second to none and you enjoy developing solutions that push innovative boundaries. You’ll work cross-functionally to strategize and develop long-term global marketing processes that usher in new levels of productivity and success. Part operations leader, part chief of staff, this role will help ensure Athletic Greens builds a high-performance marketing team and culture that achieves big goals while delivering a rewarding employee experience based on teamwork.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Ensure the marketing organization can scale quickly while achieving business results and accomplishing shared goals by driving alignment, clarity and accountability across the team.
  • Build an outstanding performance culture.
  • Effectively manage and scale a multi-layered, cross functional high-performance team to ensure we operate with excellence at every level.
  • Drive accountability by managing marketing goals, OKRs and reporting.
  • Develop reports which provide insights into marketing performance.
  • Assist in gaining alignment with other functions (Product, Partnerships) to ensure prioritizations and clean execution.
  • Optimize operational workflows by standardizing and designing systems for project management, integrated marketing, knowledge sharing and goal-tracking.
  • Design systems that empower team activity encompassing lean workflow practices, resource planning, tactical work prioritization, and tools and process optimizations.
  • Drive the overall operating cadence for the marketing department; manage the weekly/monthly/quarterly calendars driving functional planning and output.
  • Define, develop and optimize marketing operations strategies, processes, and analytics to drive ongoing customer acquisition and longer customer lifetime.
  • Identify conflicts affecting growth (org, resources, etc.) and solve emerging complexities while driving prioritization of company initiatives.
  • Develop, build and maintain the project management focus within a fully-remote organization. This includes building the project management team and capabilities within the broader marketing organization.
  • Advise CMO and marketing leaders on management practices in a decentralized organization; increase team output and maintain a rewarding employee experience.
  • Own the marketing hiring plan, working between finance, People Ops and marketing leadership to ensure hiring path is clear, aligned and properly resourced.
  • Lead organizational design efforts for the broader marketing group as the team grows and increases in complexity.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 5+ years leadership experience, both direct management and managing through influence. Experience working with and supporting C-level executives is a plus.
  • 10+ years of project management experience with a proven track record of scaling teams and iterating systems.
  • Successful track record of leading & delivering large, complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional projects with matrixed stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Metrics focused and result-oriented.
  • Systems thinker with a bias for action.
  • You are goal-oriented and highly disciplined and know how to bring others to the finish line. You’re comfortable pushing others to keep vital items moving.
  • Comfortable leading projects through ambiguity, and ability to pave a way forward when next steps are not always clear.
  • You stay calm under pressure and remain focused on the task at hand.
  • You are a problem solver, with a positive attitude who embraces change.
  • Decisiveness and proactiveness: you understand that we need to move quickly and that starts by making decisions, owning them and iterating when required.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter able to learn and operate quickly and effectively in a decentralized organization.
  • Must be high energy, passionate and have a positive “can-do” attitude.
