Position Summary

Area CV is seeking candidates for a Contributing Writer position to work with our rapidly growing writing team and enrich our website with new blog posts. We are looking for a subject-matter expert with expertise writing articles related to HR, Employment, Career Development, and/or other closely related fields.

The perfect candidate should possess the ability to oversee numerous projects, uphold Area CV’s dedication to exceptional customer service and writing quality, and feel entirely at ease when giving job seekers the tools, confidence, and hope they need to advance in their careers.

Our writers are required to adhere to specific quality standards and undergo peer review for publication. Once a contributor’s profile is pre-approved, we provide them with our guidelines. Our commitment is to feature the most relevant, high-quality writing pieces, aiming to meet the expectations of our diverse international audience.

Core Responsibilities

• We expect you to research industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies). Thoroughly review the job descriptions they provide, be familiar with industry terminology, use a clear and persuasive writing style with appropriate word choices for the client’s experience, and proofread your work for accurate spelling and content. The requirements and duties described above may be modified or waived by the Company in its sole discretion and without notice.

• Contributing Writers commit to writing a minimum of 6 high quality, 100% unique articles within a 6-month period on the topics mentioned. The articles should be unique to career development and job search strategies and not posted on other websites.

• Conduct simple keyword research and use SEO guidelines to increase web traffic.

• Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics.

• Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone).

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or equivalent experience

• Familiarity with web publications and hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Calendar.

• Strong commitment to clear and persuasive writing.

• Comfortable working remotely while independently managing a schedule and meeting deadlines.

• Ability and confidence to interact independently and proactively with clients under minimal supervision.

• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and focused on delivering high-quality, error-free drafts.

• Effective communicator, with an empathetic approach towards job seekers.

Requirements

The pay is project-based, and our pay scale is incremental and commensurate with experience. We continually evaluate our writers and guide them to advance to higher writer levels with higher pay rates.
