Job Purpose
As an integral member of our data team, the Business Intelligence (BI) Report Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of mission-critical enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) reports. Working with cross-functional teams, you will participate to gather and document reporting requirements to meet business needs. Using your skills and experience as a BI Report Developer, you will then use those requirements to design, develop, test and implement reports and dashboards that utilize the underlying data store(s)/ data warehouse(s) / data mart(s).

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in business analysis activities to gather required reporting and dashboard requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources.
  • Participate with other specialists to convert legacy reports.
  • Transition developed reports and dashboards to the Operations & Support team.
  • Provide support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards for both external and internal users.
  • Ensure proper configuration management and change controls are implemented for your sphere of influence.
  • Provide technical assistance and cross training to other team members.
  • Provide training and assistance to users for generation of adhoc reports.
  • Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes.
  • Must be able to perform duties with moderate to low supervision.
  • Monitor and develop ETL jobs to maintain enterprise data warehouses.

Skills and Qualification:

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft BI stack, including Power BI.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, AWS DMS preferred.
  • Familiarity with other tools like Informatica, Quicksight or Tableau.
  • Scripting and programming knowledge (especially My-SQL server).
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries.
  • One or more of the following desired technical skills: a)RDBMS such as MySQL and SQL Server b) AWS databases such as RedShift or Aurora
  • Performance tuning experience related to reporting queries required.
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.
  • Ability to deliver high quality code in an Agile environment.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Self-motivated and deadline focused.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities.

Experience:
5+ years’ experience developing and implementing enterprise-scale reports and dashboards, including:

  • Working with users in a requirements analysis role.
  • Extensive experience with data warehouse implementations.
  • Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts (relational and dimensional)
  • Ensure data security that involves implementing appropriate access controls and data protection measures.

Education:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or information systems technology.

Certifications Required:
BI certifications are desirable, preferably related to Power BI or Tableau.
