Since raising a $45 million Series A investment, the Output team is growing, and we’re looking for a Backend Engineer to build and evolve highly scalable and available API platform capabilities to support rich new music experiences for our users in the discovery space – including browse, recommendation, personalization, search, and other experiences. The ideal candidate will have deep experience as a backend software engineer ranging from distributed systems and micro-services architecture to CICD, devops and software engineering best practices. This candidate will also have experience rebuilding backend stacks while the plane is in flight’. We’re looking for a backend specialist who has intrinsic motivation, is technically savvy, detail-oriented, and energized to chart the course for our discovery platform capabilities roadmap.
How you’ll add value:
- Build, evolve, deploy, monitor, and maintain backend services to power critical user experiences with focus on high availability, low latency and scalability
- Actively participate in agile process – work breakdown, grooming, estimation, planning and execution of software development work as part of a scrum team
- Develop software in various languages including NodeJS, Ruby, and others. Participate in code and design reviews
- Build, operate and maintain infrastructure, tools, and CI/CD deployment pipeline. Take operational responsibility for the services that are owned by your team
- Lead small technical projects from start to finish through lean process
- Exercise strong judgment on trade-off decisions between complexity, risk, and effort
- Follow SW engineering best practices
- Build quality into our engineering processes and practices
What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- 4-5 years experience delivering impactful, high-quality backend software applications for large scale production systems
- Experience and exposure to backend architectural patterns, technologies, frameworks, languages and tools. Tendency towards micro-services architecture when appropriate
- Some Devops and/or SRE background in managing uptime of production systems, and safe deployment techniques
- Experience with the following technologies, frameworks, languages and tools –
- RESTful services, API design best practices, distributed systems, micro services and other architectural patterns
- Developing and maintaining restful services in NodeJS, Python, Ruby, etc
- Database technologies such as MySQL, Postgres, NoSQL, GraphQL, etc
- Configuring and using cloud hosted infrastructure like GCP, Heroku, or AWS
- Test driven development including unit, integration and regression testing and automation for backend services and APIs (Datadog, RUM, synthetics, dashboards, logging)
- Some CI/CD processes and deployment best practices
- Experience working in cross-functional product teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – Ability to propose solutions and back them up with sound reasoning

Additional information:
- In accordance with California law, the salary range for this role if filled within Los Angeles is $100,000 – $150,00. The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law

What You’ll Do:
The Huntress team is looking for an innovative and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer with excellent problem solving and communication skills. As a Senior Software Engineer at Huntress, you will be responsible for working in a feature delivery team to design, develop, and release software features for the Huntress Security Platform that provides for automated detection and human-powered threat hunting.
The Huntress Security Platform consists of the Huntress AWS Portal and over 2 million endpoint agents, which send telemetry used for threat hunting and remediation to our web portal. You will focus on building new and exciting features from the product roadmap, while helping our product scale to handle management of agents and their data as our customer base grows. You’ll be working with a smart and diverse team of problem solvers who exhibit high energy, deep technical skills, and a drive to get things done.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for technical development of features for the Portal and delivering quality solutions
- Develop high-quality software, software designs and architecture
- Full stack development including backend and UI/UX (60/40)
- Ensure code quality and test code through deliverables by testing own code and reviewing peers
- Take ownership over timely completion of work, problem-solving and robust code
- Actively engage and contribute to the team and new innovations
- Ability to mentor or coach junior engineers
What You Bring To The Team:
- 7+ years of experience developing complex software products
- 5+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails
- Experience in Agile or Scrum environment

The Role
We are looking for a highly-motivated fullstack software engineer intern proficient in javascript to join our team for 3-6 months (flexibility on duration with preference for 6 months). As software engineer intern, you will have the opportunity to support and gain insights into both our engineering and business teams by assisting the development of our product and of crucial internal tools.

Responsibilities
- Develop key internal tools for our team including but limited to analytics dashboards, seller management dashboards in retool etc.
- Support the development of new user-facing features for web and mobile
- Work closely with both our business and engineering teams to deliver impact wherever is needed
- Write developer documentation
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Qualifications
- You hold a degree or are currently studying a degree in computer science at a top university (or have an equivalent level of proficiency in CS) or have an equivalent level of computer science proficiency
- You are highly-motivated and eager to join a fast-growing and challenging startup environment
- Strong Javascript/Typescript Knowledge.
- You have shown initiative in the past by building your own projects
- You are familiar with the most common frameworks and their trade-offs
- You can discuss the underlying mechanisms of the programming language you use
- You can discuss data structures and their trade-offs
- You enjoy reviewing and documenting code, pair programming, and get excited about improving tools and processes
- You’re a proficient communicator and have excellent written and verbal English
- You’re comfortable working remotely (or can work hybrid from Bangkok or Singapore)

About The Role
We are actively looking for a DevOps Engineer that is equally passionate about developer experience and cloud architecture and performance, as they are about engineering. You will design and deploy reliable cloud architectures while maximizing developer efficiencies via automation.
