About Dragonfly

Dragonfly Liquid Opportunities Fund is one of the largest crypto hedge funds in the world, employing a fundamental strategy investing in liquid crypto assets. With deep roots in crypto and a highly technical team, we frequently partner with founding teams to invest in generational companies and protocols. The fund has globally distributed employees with an office in Dubai.

Data is at the core of our investment style, both in looking at our existing positions and finding or analyzing new opportunities. Given the growth in our use of data and complexity of our systems, we are looking to add a backend engineer who can focus on scaling and maintaining our data infrastructure across both portfolio analytics and fundamental data.

You'll be joining a small team with the drive and spirit of a start-up moving quickly to tackle engineering challenges. You should be comfortable with flexible and highly autonomous work environments, and seeking to have ownership of our backend tech stack.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Improve and maintain existing data infrastructure, primarily focusing on systems for monitoring positions and evaluating new opportunities
  • Build various pipelines to connect fragmented data sources into a consolidated resource
  • Build additional alerting, reporting and monitoring infrastructure as needed in order to support availability of the system
  • Prioritizing building systems quickly over building them perfectly, and how to make to make these trade offs
  • Highly autonomous environment to build and maintain this infrastructure


  • 4+ years of experience in backend engineering
  • Professional experience with our existing technologies including Google Cloud/Snowflake, Kubernetes, Python, SQL, Terraform with abilities in Go/Rust for future applications
  • Takes pride in code / developing best practices that can be maintained at the firm for years to come
  • Comfortable working with unreliable data sources and building necessary redundancies to still work with that data
  • Able to take a perspective on the current tech stack and where we should evolve to to best fit increasing data needs over time
  • Interest in blockchain broadly (can be at the level of curiosity/hobbyist rather than professional experience)
  • Work remotely with occasional travel to Dubai or interested in relocating to Dubai

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience running nodes (on any blockchain) +++
  • Experience building real time data applications
  • Experience with web scrapers
  • Familiarity with the structure of blockchain transaction data

This role is remote-friendly, but candidates with working hours PST (US) or SG are preferred.
