The Team

The Growth team is in charge of expanding Upstart’s reach to millions of Americans through access to affordable credit. We are energized by the prospect of breaking ground in our field and making a positive impact on people’s financial lives.

As a Creative Project Manager & Producer at Upstart, you are a skilled project manager with a strong production background to be a critical thinker, a proactive problem solver and a strong communicator. The ideal candidate is constantly finding ways to improve the creative output of the team by creating mechanisms for efficiency through auditing and upleveling of current processes, improving workflow and providing transparency to our team, internal stakeholders and external partners.

Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote (#LI-REMOTE)

Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on the West Coast time zone.

Travel Requirements - This team has regular on-site collaboration sessions. These occur 2-3 days per Month at the San Mateo office. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Own the lifecycle of creative projects, stakeholder communications and cross-channel project management processes from first discussion to final delivery.
  • Facilitate and participate in priority meetings, status, design reviews, and retrospectives to ensure process efficiency.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors, agencies, and partners to define timelines, specifications, budgets, contracts, and approvals.
  • Manage and execute a vast array of production types including photography, live action, motion graphics, animation and UCG content.
  • Manage the end-to-end process from pre-production to post production, budget, call sheets, contractor agreements, shoot calendar and licensing content for timely delivery of assets.,
  • Determine the requirements and scale of a project and/or production based on high level discussions and proactively resource and plan while anticipating challenges and mitigating risks.
  • Maintain a record of project and production communication, dependencies and schedules and organizes with appropriate channel leads
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional partners to organize workflows, document approvals, ensure follow through and build stakeholder consensus to meet project deadlines

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of managing creative processes at an advertising agency and/or in-house team (tech experience is a plus).
  • Embody equal parts creative, operational and analytic experience with an acute understanding of modern distribution methods
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive performance improvements
  • Positive, self-motivated, and solution-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • An impeccable eye for detail and immeasurable dedication for efficiency.
  • Solid working experience in direct response initiatives, including (but not limited to) highly engaging direct mail, email, digital social and interactive experiences.
  • Strong understanding of all relevant social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, Facebook etc.) with experience managing the processes of each project depending on the lift required
  • Proven experience and success with live action shoots, animation, photography shoots, digital projects, events, talent and contract negotiation and licensing.
  • Excellent communication, written, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • A strong ability to prioritize and organize resources and processes across short and long-term projects.
