Technical Project Manager at Luma Health

  • Project Management
  • Fulltime
  • Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description

About Us:

Luma Health was founded on the idea that patients should easily be able to connect to their healthcare provider in a way that’s modern and mobile-first.

For doctors, it means a full schedule, better patient outcomes, and caring for more patients. For clinics, it means a more automated practice, more revenue, and higher MIPS scores. For patients, it means getting the care they need and experiencing next-level patient care.

Needing to see a doctor is hard. Being able to see one shouldn’t be.

The Role:

We are looking for a strong leader to own the development pipeline of new products and the maintenance of our existing products. In this role, you will work directly with engineers and engineering managers and work closely with product and internal stakeholder teams to deliver high quality, scalable products.

You will also assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk taking behavior to maximize business benefit. Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail driven, have excellent problem solving and planning abilities.

What You Will Do:

  • Be responsible for the overall development life cycle of a subset of products, and manage complex projects.
  • Instill best practices for software development and documentation, ensure solutions meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
  • Manage all technical communication with partners, including technical new feature builds and defects, and be the liaison between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Break down strategic initiatives into achievable tasks, by partnering with the Engineering Manager(s), partners, and individual contributors.
  • Manage the prioritization of short term work, support roadmap-planning, plan development projects and features, and track external commitments.
  • Ensure engineers are working with the Architecture Review Board to develop the best technical design and approach during development.
  • Deeply understand the product areas of the team, and be able to act as a communications liaison between technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Coach the team of engineers in using agile methodologies.
  • Generate targeted reports for different internal and/or external audiences

What We Are Looking For:

  • 2-5 years of experience in technical project management
  • 2+ years experience working directly with software engineers
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A deep understanding of software development in a team structure, and a track record of shipping software on time.
  • Ability to organize and track tasks, clarify project scope, ruthlessly prioritize tasks, and problem-solve.
  • Ability to proactively manage risks and project escalations.
  • Proven ability to influence others across the company to remain focused on desired outcomes without direct authority.
  • Advanced knowledge of the full life-cycle of software development.
  • Ability to evaluate and report on project metrics and results.
  • Exceptional spoken and written communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in health care / health tech
  • Experience working in a growing startup, during the 150 to 500 person growth phase

We Take Care of You!

  • Competitive Health Benefits: Luma Health covers 99% of the employee and 85% of the dependent premium costs.
  • Work Life Balance
  • Flexible Time Off
  • Wellness Programs
  • Discounted Perks
