Role Summary

U.Group is looking for an experienced remote Drupal Developer for developing in the Drupal frontend with a love of solving problems in a creative environment. You’ll work with designers, other developers, UXers, strategists and project managers to redesign and maintain Drupal websites. We’re looking for a candidate with experience developing and maintaining custom responsive themes, performing site display building and configuration.

Key Objectives

Objective #1: Research and define human-centered content and SEO strategies.

  • Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify and articulate their content needs, objectives, themes, audiences and workflows.
  • Conduct content inventories and audits to identify website-and page-level issues, such as thematic gaps, thin or duplicate content, inadequate inlinks, missing metadata, and improper use of heading structures.
  • Evaluate implementation of technical SEO elements like robots.txt files, XML sitemaps, URL structures and redirects using tools like Moz Pro and Google Search Console.
  • Analyze user data from sources like Google Analytics, ForeSee and SiteImprove to understand baseline content performance and evaluate changes over time.
  • Define actionable strategies for optimizing and enhancing website content, structures and processes to achieve client objectives and meet user needs.
  • Live by our team values of clarity, inclusion, curiosity and honesty — giving clients, partners and peers the guidance they need to hear in a way that respects their intelligence and experiences.

Objective #2: Design content experiences and processes that enhance findability, usability and performance.

  • Design intuitive information architecture plans, including sitemaps, content types and taxonomy vocabularies that support findability, accessibility and reuse.
  • Work with developers and engineers to define migration and redirect strategies, migrate content and conduct quality assurance.
  • Create content templates, style guides, measurement plans, governance strategies and other documentation to help your clients create and maintain their content.
  • Build client capacity by creating SEO trainings, presentations, metadata guidelines, content templates, reports, measurement plans and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to evolve their writing for the web; craft accessible, plain-language page and interface copy; and optimize content for search.

Objective #3: Contribute to the growth of the content strategy discipline at U.Group.

  • Promote U.Group’s way of working by making a strong case for iterative, human-centered content strategy and content design on every project.
  • Create and contribute to team resources and training materials, including tutorials, guides, presentations, and toolkits.
  • Recognize when practices and processes are inconsistent or no longer serve the team and recommend paths forward to improve effectiveness.
  • Participate in and facilitate regular critique sessions and workshops, both internally and with stakeholders, to gather feedback and ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Contribute to business development strategies and proposals to capture new business and grow successful multi-year account strategies.
