Sandbox VR is seeking an experienced Senior UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic team and shape the user experience and interface of our innovative online platform. As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the visual and interactive design aspects of our platform, ensuring an exceptional user experience for our diverse user base. Your creative mindset, expertise in user-centered design principles, and proficiency in industry-standard design tools will be instrumental in developing intuitive, aesthetically appealing, and engaging user interfaces.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with the Manager of Product Management to lead the end-to-end UI/UX design process, from conceptualization to delivery, for our suite of software products including customer-facing booking and check-in apps, store operator-facing control center apps, and other special one-off projects for various partners and initiatives
  • Conduct user research and gather user requirements to understand user needs, preferences, and pain points
  • Develop user personas, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups to effectively communicate design ideas and solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define design requirements and ensure the successful implementation of UI/UX solutions
  • Apply user-centered design principles to create intuitive and visually compelling user interfaces that enhance usability and overall user satisfaction
  • Conduct usability testing and analyze user feedback to iterate and refine design solutions
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UI/UX design, and apply them to continually improve the platform’s design and user experience
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture within the team

What We’re Looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus
  • 2-3 years of proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, preferably in designing online platforms, web applications, or complex digital products
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UI/UX design projects, including user-centered design approaches, responsive design, and interaction design
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar
  • Solid understanding of user research techniques, usability testing methodologies, and data-driven design decision-making
  • Excellent knowledge of typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented mindset, with a passion for delivering pixel-perfect designs that meet high-quality standards
  • Ability to adapt to evolving priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
