Join Anima and save lives 🌟
Do you wish your work had greater tangible impact? Join Anima (YC W21), and you can have your cake and eat it too: we pay upper quartile for salary + equity, and you'll help to solve super interesting technical problems that will save lives.
We're profitable, growing at 100% MoM, and went from $0 ARR to $4m ARR in 19 months from launch (Apr '22). That's pretty unprecedented in SaaS, never mind healthcare! Our NPS is 87, we’ve never churned a clinic and we’re growing very efficiently - we’re profitable with infinite runway. We’ve gotten here through being design-led and UX obsessed. We see every line of code as building proprietary UX that leads to user love and pricing power. We care so much that all our engineers chose to become proficient in Figma :)
Hi - I'm Shun, a medical doctor and CEO of Anima. Thanks for checking out our job ad! We’re tackling a problem that has affected everyone in some way.
- Globally, millions die every year because their medical problems aren’t treated quickly enough. Hundreds of millions suffer pain, worry and discomfort needlessly because of long waiting times.
- We’ve built ambitious software to automate the entire healthcare workflow - from history taking consultations, to report abstraction, to recommending & saving a coded action plan for the patient, ready for a human doctor to greenlight.
- By doing this, we get patients optimal care within 24 hours and 10x the clinical workflow in the process.
Backed by a top 1% VC 🚀
We were one of the hottest companies of YC’s W21 batch: we raised over $2.5m before Demo Day within 4 days, led by Hummingbird (consistently top 1% of global returns), giving us a runway of 4+ years. We are pretty unique among health techs: we have both medical and engineering domain expertise. I wrote the first backend in Node, 80% of which is still used, with no major vulnerabilities found from recent pen testing. As a doctor and former HM Treasury health policy advisor managing £4bn budgets in UK health spending, I have full stack domain knowledge and personal experience of the problem we’re solving.
Our mission is to deliver precision medicine to everyone in the world, within 24 hours. We know exactly how to get there and we’re moving ferociously with focus.
Join a design-led company where incredible UX is at the core of every line of code, and everything we do
Great design is built our DNA: Rachel, co-founder and COO, heads the design of all our products. Our thesis is that code serves UX - ideally proprietary UX that users are willing to pay a lot for. We care a lot - we always build clear UX directed graphs (sometimes called user flows) and Figma mockups before beginning architecting or writing a single line of code. We close the loop by using our UX DiGraphs as E2E testing models. We care so much that all our engineers chose to become proficient in Figma :)
We’re looking for visionary designer leaders and architects who can think from first principles and have high growth potential - great decision makers who deserve to have complete autonomy and are forces of nature when empowered with it. At the same time, we are deeply collaborative, and through mutual and self-challenge, we converge towards the optimum, and decisively execute. We are united by child-like intellectual curiosity and experiment and wander freely when the right path isn’t clear. We believe all future managers should be formidable ICs & domain experts. Decisions are never made in isolation by the founders. All information is transparently available to the whole team on our Notion - every meeting, decision, success, failure. Anima is a safe refuge for everyone to share their honest thoughts, feelings and be their complete unfiltered self. We offer unlimited holidays and flexibility over work schedule and location.
The quickest way to get your creations into the hands of users
When everyone is UX obsessed, it’s much easier to stay on the same page & execute rapidly. This means we have a super short latency from ideation to real usage - here are two recent examples:
- Rachel, co-founder and currently leading design, talked to power users and discovered a critical need for multiple organisations to able to join the same real time multiplayer dashboard. She mocked up a new dashboard in Figma with our engineers, getting async feedback from power users throughout (our users are generally very fanatical and helpful!), and we got it shipped within 5 days!
- Alex (Clinical Engineer), realised that there was a need for care teams to communicate internally and with outside collaborators, and helped Rachel create UX flows and mockups for a game changing feature where virtual care teams could discuss cases and see a single source of truth for the patient history. We managed to get it shipped in 4 weeks!
Does this sound like you?
- Hungry and wants their shot to change the world - a force of nature when empowered with the tools, resources and development to do it.
- Bored and frustrated at big companies; feel held back by red tape, bureaucracy and poor decisions.
- Keen to understand the big picture & entire context of the company and vertical; has a sense of urgency for growth towards a senior executive role.
- Have hacked together a cool project in the past, that did something useful, and want to relive that feeling of accomplishment (everyday!).
- High sigma product intuition and empathy - an uncanny ability to intuit the deepest anxieties and opportunities for user joy even with minimal user research.
- Obsessed with optimising UX: quickly able to understand the needs of our users and translate deep anxieties and latent opportunities for excitement and joy into optimal UX flows.
- Exceptional attention to detail & an eye for aesthetics that ensure a careful & thorough approach to Figma mockups.
- An excellent communicator: concisely and clearly communicate designs to the team both verbally and through the materials you produce (sketches, wireframes, prototypes etc.)
- Able to understand and distil complex concepts & processes and make them accessible for our users in the form of simple, elegant user flows and interactions.
- Able to work in an iterative design process, guided by user feedback & company goals; motivated and energised by group critique.
- Seeks to maximise not only self productivity, but combined team productivity, communicating the right things at the right time through the right channels (verbal/Slack/Notion).
- Intellectually curious and loves learning - able to tackle entirely novel challenges that lack prior precedent through applying strong design fundamentals and first principles thinking, creatively using the best tools for the job to maximise user delight.
- Familiarity with Figma and/or hungry to learn.
We don’t enforce any particular experience level, but you’ll need to demonstrate most of the above through past projects and/or our assessment process.
Our current stack & what to expect from the role
Here is some information on our technical stack in case you are interested (this may not make much sense to you - that's okay!): we are tech agonistic, and collectively choose the best tools for the job. We’re constantly looking to maximise our productivity and minimise what we call “discounted dev time cost” for shipping features. We have 2 separate fully functional web apps in prod: one for clinical users and one for patients. We have good functional & unit test coverage and we recently implemented an advanced CI/CD pipeline which supports golden screenshots and automated frontend tests. We primarily use Figma for our mock-ups & wireframes.
We’re looking to add talented product designers who are hungry and understand the urgency and importance of what we’re doing for society.
First month - some examples of what to expect:
- Work with our engineers and sales team to identify, create and implement the user flows that make using Anima a delight for both doctors and patients.
- Design and implement creative solutions that improve the clarity and comprehension of our 2 apps, and our website.
- Join customer calls to develop a deep understanding of their fundamental motivations and needs/pain points.
Next 6 months - some examples of what to expect:
- Lead on the design and implementation for our flagship features, including building out our video consultation offering & seamlessly incorporating integrations with NHS APIs into our UX.
- Collaborate with engineers to apply insights from user cohort & A/B testing to inform decisions about feature selection & design.
- Hire/scale the team, while implementing the right processes at the right times to maximise discounted team productivity and maximise user delight.
6+ months - some examples of what to expect:
- Potential to transition to a more managerial/executive role.
- Define and formalise our design standards, and grow and scale our design tools and processes so we keep rapidly shipping features that result in a high retention delta.
- This is a permanent role: things get even more exciting down the line!

About Anima
Anima builds Care Enablement for care teams. You'll be building a product that saves lives and multiple Clinical Engineers (ex-MDs and fullstack SWEs) quit lucrative medicine jobs to join Anima for that very reason! Our ambition is to be the OS for all of healthcare and life sciences, through a proprietary active learning, crowdsourcing training architecture - we call it Anima 2.0. We already have one of the biggest, highest quality labelled datasets in the world.
We're profitable, growing at 300-400% MoM, and went from $0 ARR to $1m ARR in 6 months from launch (Apr '22). That's pretty unprecedented in SaaS, nevermind healthcare! We have a pretty unique hacker culture at Anima: almost everyone is technical and can code. A 'knights of the round table' structure and thinking from first principles is core to our culture, and is how we've made such rapid progress. It's reflected in how we operate:
There's no separate product & engineering teams - instead, we have Clinical Engineers who are both their own customers (MDs) and are strong fullstack engs, collaborating with pure software engineers. Due to the quality of our team, there's a heavy focus on coaching and teaching, with minimal to no line management.
We're relentlessly resourceful - in 14 months, we've built an extremely loved enterprise app (NPS = 87) that users have said 'seems too good to be true'. Anima can take an information complete medical history as good or better than a typical human doctor, and automates patient comms and clinical notes.
Anima is a safe haven for free thinkers and we've been careful to build a culture where everyone feels comfortable being their complete self, without ever needing to self-censor. Our hiring acceptance rate is around 0.5-0.8%, which is lower than YC. You're joining hyper elite special forces, and your crewmates will never let you down or waste your time.
We hire candidates from all over the world. We have remote hubs in EU West and NA, and plans to seed some in person teams in those areas too in the next 12 months (in addition to our fully remote teams).
We have a good time :) we've had team lunches in Duck&Waffle, Breakfast Club, dumplings in Chinatown, had private screenings in our own cinema, booked out the Sky Pool etc. We'll be doing at least 2x international team meets, with the next one in a beautiful chateau in Southern France.

Staff Product Designer at Wealthfront
- Design
- Fulltime
- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
About the role
Wealthfront is looking for a senior/staff product designer to join the Wealthfront Design team, working on a new product line. Wealthfront pioneered automated investing by offering broad access to sophisticated investing strategies at a fraction of the cost of traditional financial advisers. But that was only the beginning of a much broader vision for how our products can serve our mission to build a financial system that favors people over institutions. Since then, we’ve continued to expand the ways we help our clients build long-term wealth through saving, investing, and more.
Your role will be to work on the end-to-end experience of a new business line. You’ll collaborate closely with the cross-functional leaders on your team to define the direction for your work, and you’ll build on quantitative and qualitative research to craft delightful experiences that meet our customer and business goals.
Success in this role will require strong communication skills, critical thinking, a high bar for craft, and executional excellence. We’re looking for a senior designer who is equally excited to design an excellent experience as they are to dig into the complexities of what makes our products tick.
Design at Wealthfront
Unlike many companies where designers are trained to make incremental changes and work through a chain of hierarchy to advocate for bold new ideas, designers at Wealthfront are expected to be innovative, creative and strategic, because design is critical to realizing our vision. Designers are expected to define problems, new opportunities and solutions that are deeply rooted in human psychology. They demonstrate a sound understanding of our technology and business, all in very tight collaboration with engineers, product managers, researchers and data scientists. In an environment where we’re making big bets, and innovation is encouraged, we embrace failure and care much more about the magnitude of success versus percentage of times we are successful. And unlike many organizations, design is an equal partner to engineering and product and plays an important role in the executive staff that collectively make all critical strategic decisions.
We’re a remote friendly team and open to candidates in the US.
About You:
6+ years of product design experience in a consumer software company
You have a portfolio of high-quality work that shows your experience designing elegant and visually engaging solutions to complex problems that directly solve user needs
You take a structured, intentional approach to your work, leveraging frameworks and principles to articulate your design decisions
You have experience collaborating with product managers, researchers, and content designers in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
You can demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate and present ideas clearly
You’re a reliable self-starter who can lead multiple projects with minimal oversight
You love designing for the entire product process from strategy to pixel—and can demonstrate a range of skills from high-level flows to detailed interactions
You’re an exceptional product thinker who takes a deep interest in understanding business and customer needs
Deep curiosity and interest about fintech
Mindset that excels at Wealthfront:
Someone who embraces complexity, loves engaging in intellectually rigorous discussions, critically evaluates trade-off, both from a customer and business perspective
Someone who turns ambiguity into clarity and navigates the organization to drive alignment
Someone who consistently thinks about the company and team first and has the resilience to work tough situations, steps up and leads the team
Someone who goes above and beyond to make others around them successful
Someone who is enterprising and also demonstrates high agency. You don’t wait for change but instead move with urgency and come to the table with proposals on how to improve
Someone who deeply cares about learning and growing with the company
Estimated annual salary range: $190k USD plus equity and a discretionary bonus.
Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401K plan, generous time off, parental leave, wellness reimbursements, professional development, employee investing discount, and more!
About Wealthfront
Wealthfront started with the ambition to transform the investment advisory business, with the goal to unlock access to high quality investment advice for millions who were underserved by the traditional institutions. We built one of the first automated investment products that allows you to invest in a personalized portfolio of thousands of companies in seconds for a remarkably low fee. We then expanded. We now work with partner banks to offer exceptional banking features through a Wealthfront Brokerage Cash Account, which makes it remarkably easy for people to automate their finances end-to-end and eliminated the hassle of money management, all of which resulted in attracting more than $70 billion of our client’s hard earned money, pioneering the robo-advisor category and transforming the broader industry. And yet, we have a long way to go to achieve our mission to build a financial system that favors people, not institutions.
Wealthfront’s vision is to make it delightfully easy to build long-term wealth on your own terms. This vision is more relevant than ever because millions more people are getting into the market early and investing their hard earned savings in a handful of stocks. While this is a great way to start, it is inconsistent with building long-term wealth. POSTED Sep 30
Founding Product Designer at Brightwave
- Design
- Fulltime
- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
💡 About Brightwave
Brightwave is a deep technology startup building LLM-powered investment research systems that can autonomously reason across huge bodies of multimodal text, table and image data such as SEC filings, real-time news feeds, earnings call transcripts, legal rulings, patents, sell-side analysis and more. Brightwave helps active asset managers accelerate research workflows and generate investment ideas with unprecedented depth and comprehensiveness. Brightwave is experiencing rapid growth and commercial success, with paying customers with assets under management in excess of $120B and brisk demand from diverse clients across financial services.
🛰️ Create Something Incredible
We hire exceptional humans who are intrinsically motivated to do great work. As a principle we tend to favor a smaller team of senior, seasoned professionals who intuitively know what needs to happen next. Brightwave's team includes engineers from places like Databricks and Meta, NeurIPS-published research scientists, and commercial talents with tours of duty at firms like Goldman Sachs, UBS and McKinsey.
Our venture investors include some of the world's largest asset managers as well as angels from OpenAI, Databricks, Uber, LinkedIn and the Solana Foundation.
🪡 Product Design at Brightwave
Product Design is a critical-path function charged with an exceptionally difficult challenge: how to reveal the thought process of an intelligent system that has considered tens of thousands of pages of content to a user in a way that is intuitive and useful. The Brightwave product is data-intensive and targets sophisticated professionals — think Photoshop rather than Airbnb — and will require the creation of entirely new user experiences and workflow patterns to enable users to make the most of fundamentally new AI capabilities. The work spans the entire product lifecycle, to include user research, design partner groups, experience and visual design, rapid prototyping, information visualization and more.
Success in this role will benefit from a mature design philosophy, mastery of the technical tools of the trade, excellent taste in visual media, a clear and compelling communication style, intellectual curiosity, and a good sense of humor.
🎯 Responsibilities
Lead the team with a clear vision for the future of AI products; establish foundational design and product practices that define the Brightwave user experience
Create UI designs and interactive prototypes for a beautiful, information-rich interface including AI-generated content, knowledge cards, visualizations & multimodal search results
Develop & lead a user research program leveraging investment professionals ranging from junior analysts at secretive hedge funds to executives at firms with trillions in assets
Facilitate rapid prototyping for novel product looks and algorithm assessment systems
Create a well-organized, modular design system that powers our production front end
Produce distinctive visual media for public collateral such as slide decks, landing pages, email campaigns, etc.
🚀 Capabilities
Strong candidates for this role will have some (but not necessarily all) of the following capabilities and experiences. At Brightwave we grow together.
7+ years of design experience, including exposure to startup environments
A mastery of the technical aspects of the craft, including deep familiarity with tools like Figma, Photoshop & Illustrator
An empathetic and methodical user research style that avoids leading the witness and creates insightful documentation that’s readily consumed by others
Experience designing for data-intensive applications and ML/AI products, including considerations relating to progressive loading, impression and action tracking, personalization etc.
A working understanding of the considerations facing the engineers who consume your work product
✨ Values Matter
We stay true to our values, and work with people who do the same.
Ownership. We take responsibility for how we choose to respond to our circumstances.
Humility. Most situations warrant a sense of curiosity and a willingness to be wrong.
Craftsmanship. We take pride in the work and tend to the details.
Focus. Transformative work only happens in the presence of intense, sustained focus.
Empathy. Seek first to understand - most people are basically reasonable and want to do the right thing.
Humor. Life is a gift, let’s enjoy it together.

POSTED Sep 30
Senior Product Designer at Zello
- Design
- Fulltime
- Anywhere (100% Remote) Only
Job Description
As a Product Designer at Zello, you will work with fellow designers to design new features from the ground up. From foundational exploration and research through prototyping and testing, you’ll help your (and our) vision come to life. Whereas many designers approach their work with a heuristic analysis, you balance heuristics with research. Our 175+ million users span all levels of technical prowess and ability, and we’ve learned that what’s best for many users isn’t what’s best for others. You'll see projects through in all their forms by analyzing a problem space, researching competitors, proposing solutions, usability testing your designs, revising, revising more, and finally handing off for development.
What you'll do
Work collaboratively with your team’s product manager, engineers, and relevant subject matter experts to deliver solutions and definition.
Build and maintain component systems, screens, and flows in Figma.
Work with your team to deliver new features on a two-week cadence.
Work in low- and high-fidelity as necessary.
Facilitate productive feedback discussions, empowering non-designers to give their best and most helpful input.
Create, prototype, and test your designs.
Spec your designs for engineering handoff.
Collaborate with other designers to ensure best research and testing practices.
Collaborate with engineers by building and testing projects to ensure design fit and finish.
Who you are
You have 5+ years of design experience.
You value collaboration and drive it by inviting diverse colleagues into the design process.
You value craft — you take the birdseye to define a solution and comfortably get into the minutia to draw icons, write redlines, and test new builds.
You employ a hybrid of heuristics and inductive research. There are usability basics that apply to all users, but the story doesn’t end there.
You have a background in digital products with complex, diverse user bases. Our app serves a variety of users, from frontline workers to HAM radio enthusiasts to Latin American teens.
You build low-fidelity prototypes in Figma, Principle, or a comparable tool.
You build high-fidelity prototypes in Origami (preferable) or a comparable tool.
You’re a Figma expert.
You’re familiar with HTML, CSS, and JS.
You’re familiar with Xcode and Android Studio.

Job Description
Title: Senior Game UX/UI Designer
Location: New York, New York
Job Description:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Peloton Game Studio is looking for a Senior UX / UI designer. After the success of our first game Lanebreak (a music game for Peloton indoor bikes and treadmills) we’re now deep into development of a totally different style of game, which we think cyclists and runners in particular will love.
Your UX brain and UI design chops will help us elevate the craft of our fitness games. Our games engage, empower, and immerse players pursuing their own fitness and training goals. As such, this UX first role requires a blend of game and product design thinking. It’s a wonderful opportunity to swing for the fences and make a real impact.
Our team is hybrid and remote. Around half of us work hybrid from Peloton HQ in NYC, and half fully remote (mostly in the USA). Collaboration is paramount within our company culture. The ideal candidate will relish the opportunity to problem solve and conceptualize alongside the team, share ongoing work, and actively seek feedback. Join us making the world a healthier place through fitness gaming!
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Convert requirements & vision into solid UX strategies and designs
- Absorb and improve our current UX design principles and UI patterns
- Take complex problems and convert them into simple solutions, making complexity easier to understand for the user. We’re up against their body and brain telling them not to work out and don’t want any part of the UX to make it harder!
- Advocate for user needs in all design discussions, closely partnering with user research & product
- Drive forward UX design processes such as personas, journey mapping, information architecture, wireframes, interaction design, and prototyping
- Research best-in-class products and keep your finger on the pulse of fitness, sports, and gaming
- Capture and clearly document all states, edge-cases, and path logic for engineering teams
- Collaborate effectively with partners across engineering, design, game design, art, content, user research, audio, product, production/TPM, and QA
- Regularly create and present Figma wireframes and prototypes to team leads and other stakeholders, revising, testing, and iterating solutions to ensure the highest quality results
- Maintain a deep investment in ensuring our players have the best possible experience while achieving their fitness goals
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- 5+ years of professional UX/UI design experience (inc 3+ years on video games / immersive experiences)
- Shipped 2+ games/mobile apps as a professional UX/UI Designer (excluding academic projects)
- Must have a UX focused portfolio showing high quality UX/UI design thinking and process; we’re particularly interested in examples that showcase your ability to simplify complexity
- Experience designing for various screen sizes and platforms
- Proven proficiency with Figma to create wireframes and prototypes
- Ability to conceptualize multi-state, multi-path interaction systems
- Familiarity with agile software development on a cross-discipline game development team
- Bonus: domain expertise in cycling and/or running
- Bonus: alternative control input experience (e.g. exercise equipment, AR/VR)
- Bonus: Unity / game engine UI prototyping and/or implementation experience
- Bonus: experience incorporating motion/animation into UI and interaction design
