Job Description

Emotech is based in London, UK, and found in 2014. We are dedicated to exploring a multimodality system that blends various machine learning algorithms, allowing for bespoke solutions to AI needs for software and hardware. Emotech was selected by TechCrunch as one of the Top 14 European Startups and then Top 30 Business Cases in China by Financial Times. In 2019, Emotech introduced the first multimodality AI English teaching assistant solution launched in Huawei HDC and awarded the first London Business Award. Emotech has been in collaboration with renowned universities since 2015 starting from UCL, Imperial College, the University of Edinburgh to the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, CMU.

Overview
As a software engineer, you will be working closely with our research and design teams to bring our multi-modal and speech AI services to our customers around the globe. Our core technology stack is a highly distributed, concurrent system of micro services built on Linux with C++11, Rust, Go and Python. As a software engineer you should be proficient in any or all of these languages as well as keen on producing good quality code. We are looking for problem solvers, who have a passion for tackling challenging problems and coming up with practical solutions. You will be collaborating with talented scientists, engineers and designers who are equally driven. Technically you should be eager to learn new languages/techniques/frameworks.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of software development experience in industry to be considered for senior role
  • Deep knowledge of a programming language (e.g. Rust, C++11) in a Linux environment; working knowledge of multiple languages
  • Degree in Computer Science or other relevant area
  • Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms and communication protocols
  • Great understanding of TDD, unit tests, end-to-end tests
  • Understanding of Tensorflow, Keras or PyTorch
