About the Role

This is a ground floor opportunity to be one of the first designers at Rootly and tangibly shape our trajectory. You will experience the balance of being scrappy and operating at scale. You will own the design and brand end-to-end (not only for product but also marketing) with unbound amounts of creativity and autonomy. If you want your work to influence how thousands of our users work everyday and in an environment with the shortest feedback loop possible, this is right for you. The Ideal Candidate

  • 4+ years of experience with B2B, developer tooling, or enterprise software product design.
  • Has built design systems from scratch and familiar with building/maintaining component libraries.
  • Experience owning features through the entire design process, from user research to visual design.
  • Experience designing a variety of UX/Visual Design artifacts, such as: ecosystems, flows, wireframes, detailed UI, prototypes, etc.
  • Craves working iteratively with customers for user testing, interviews, and more.
  • Beyond just product design, has a background in illustration as this will support other functions such as marketing, sales and DevRel.
  • Is a master at prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a good sense of the trade-offs between good vs. perfect.
  • Act as the UX advocate for users to inform our product and design strategies, and use quantitative data and qualitative feedback to inform the design decisions iteratively.
  • Has an understanding of the impact of design decisions on product/engineering but also sales.
  • A meticulous or fanatical attention to detail...a poorly labelled folder or an image with one pixel off drives you crazy.
  • Examples of developing and conveying ideas clearly in a written and visual format--clearly demonstrate how your designs tackle customers' problems or add value to their lives.
