Job Description

As a Senior Mobile App Developer on COMMUNITYx’s Engineering Team, you’ll be one of our first engineering hires. This is a pivotal role where you will be expected to help continue the development of our mobile apps. This role will report directly to the CTO. Occasional weekend and evening availability is required.

What your day-to-day looks like:

  • Exhibiting your expertise with React Native for iOS and Android
  • Profiling and optimizing app performance
  • Designing, developing, and deploying features for our iOS and Android mobile apps
  • Writing well documented, idiomatic code
  • Bringing our code coverage to greater than 90% and maintaining coverage
  • Working in short sprint cycles to allow for rapid iteration of ideas
  • Maintaining well structured Git code repositories
  • Writing concise design proposals for improving the application experience
  • Designing and implementing in-app tutorials that highlight app features
  • Turning high quality design mocks into pixel perfect implementations
  • Patching any existing or new security vulnerabilities as they arise
  • Maintaining app store certificates and compliance with app store requirements (keeping SDKs up-to-date, etc.)
  • Meeting with devs, designers, and other contributors as needed during IST working hours.

The perfect candidate will:

  • Be a seasoned (6+ year) mobile app developer with demonstrable impact.
  • Have a firm grasp on designing for and implementing current UIUX trends & patterns.
  • Have experience pushing builds to the Apple App and Google Play stores
  • Thoroughly understand how to tune mobile apps for improved performance
  • Have experience working with source control tools (preferably Git)
  • Have experience with Figma or other design platforms
  • Understand how to read and create sequence diagrams
  • Be willing to wear multiple hats
  • Work well in a small, experienced team on a rapid, agile development schedule
  • Be a proactive problem solver that presents technical issues and their impact to management
  • Work well independently
  • Be comfortable leading remote teams

Total Compensation: $110k - $140k
