The Role

As the Strategic Account & Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in not only developing detailed vehicle deployment plans and overseeing the successful implementation of our cutting-edge vehicle system but also in cultivating and managing relationships with our prestigious Fortune-500 clients. Your focus will extend beyond technical project management as you champion the customer experience, ensuring seamless and error-free vehicle system rollouts that exceed client expectations.

We are on the lookout for a dynamic individual who is not only motivated, analytical, and process-driven but also excels as a customer advocate. The Strategic Account & Project Manager will lead customer engagements from inception to completion, leveraging robust account management skills to forge lasting partnerships.

Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that each project stays on schedule, within budget, and aligns with the strategic direction set forth by the organization. In addition to technical project management responsibilities, your role will be instrumental in coordinating resources across functional areas, placing a special emphasis on client satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.

Responsibilities encompass comprehensive planning, budgeting, oversight, and documentation of all aspects of the project. Success in this role hinges not only on flawless product implementations but also on your ability to drive the widespread adoption of self-driving, zero-emission vehicle systems through effective account management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountability for Comprehensive Project Management:

Take ownership of all project aspects, from planning and coordination to overseeing vehicle system rollouts and managing the project team.Ensure seamless project execution from initiation to completion, with a keen focus on exceeding customer expectations.

Customer Relationship Management:

Manage customer expectations and champion exceptional customer service throughout the deployment process.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, and Technical Operations, to deliver outstanding service to Fortune-500 customers.

Effective Communication and Collaboration:

Maintain proactive and frequent communication with customer contacts to understand their needs and implement process changes seamlessly.Work closely with Engineering teams to identify dependencies and ensure alignment with customer requirements.

Task Backlog Ownership:

Own and manage a backlog of tasks, ensuring timely completion while optimizing resource allocations.Drive responsible solutions and maintain an action-oriented approach within the organization.

Continuous Improvement and Cost Management:

Identify communication gaps and opportunities for process improvements to enhance the overall customer experience.Identify opportunities for cost and time reduction to support scalable operations.

Project Team Management:

Manage project deployment teams and oversee multiple projects nationwide, emphasizing a safety-first culture at customer sites.Utilize project management tools to provide clear and accurate schedules, ensuring efficient implementation of autonomous vehicles.

Budget and Scope Management:

Ensure project costs, schedules, and scopes are well-managed, developing recovery plans as needed to stay within approved limits.

Strategic Contribution:

Contribute to advancing the project management organization and promote a scalable approach to project management.

Flexibility and Travel:

Be prepared for frequent travel, as needed, and collaborate effectively at customer locations to strengthen partnerships.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven Project Management Expertise:

Demonstrated success with a minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience, specifically with external client-facing responsibilities.

Financial and Resource Management:

Track record of effectively managing budgets, project plans, and resource allocations. Experience leading geographically distributed teams, showcasing a strong ability to optimize resources.

Customer-Centric Project Coordination:

Proficient in organizing and coordinating complex projects, particularly in environments with highly demanding customers and tight timelines.Previous experience in managing client-facing projects, ensuring customer satisfaction and successful project outcomes.

Leadership and Organizational Skills:

Strong leadership skills, coupled with the ability to organize daily tasks efficiently.Superb organizational, prioritization, decision-making, and triaging skills.

Technical Acumen:

Proven ability to understand complex technical systems, facilitating effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Adaptability and Initiative:

Capacity to create structure and direction out of ambiguity, adapting swiftly to changing project dynamics.Proactive mindset, demonstrating initiative in proposing and implementing new ideas and approaches.

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, providing a solid foundation for comprehensive project management.

Ideal Qualifications

  • In-Depth Industry Expertise:

Extensive experience in roles associated with trucking, shipping, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.Knowledge of trailer yards and familiarity with intermodal/distribution center environments is highly advantageous.

Account Management/ Sales:

Ideal candidates will have a background in account management or sales, demonstrating a keen understanding of client relationship building, customer satisfaction, and effective communication. Previous training or experience in sales methodologies is considered a valuable asset.

Client-Facing Technical Project Management:

Proven track record in client-facing technical project management, with expertise in areas such as Autonomous Vehicles, Automation, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Yard Management Systems (YMS), AGV, or Robotics.
