Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking an SEO Content Specialist with a medical background to join the SEO team. This position is located in our New York City office as a hybrid role, 2 days in office per week. Fully remote candidates may be considered based on skills and experience.


Job Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Growth Marketing, this position will be responsible for search engine optimization with a focus on content editing and creation, serving the medical community across the 20 websites in the Haymarket Medical Network. With a primary audience of healthcare practitioners across all specialties, we are looking for a motivated performer who can provide guidance and oversight to help build the organic audience for our brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the internal content team to provide best-practice content optimization and execution strategies that meet SEO guidelines.
  • Perform keyword research to identify gaps and opportunities across medical terminology.
  • Inspect different content types throughout the network of sites and provide feedback on how to improve organic traffic.
  • Use content and SEO tools, including Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Google Analytics, and others, to assist in content planning.
  • Execute on-page and in-article updates where necessary to improve performance.
  • Be a leader within the team in improving knowledge within the medical industry as it applies to SEO.
  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations related to medical content and medical terminology.
  • Possess the ability to write articles within medical therapeutic areas and within medical topics as needed.
  • Conduct content audits within various content types and focus areas to build performance reports.

Skills and Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in writing medical content
  • Understanding of SEO
  • Understanding of WordPress CMS
  • Medical experience and/or background
  • Attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to work independently against deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • BS/MS degree
