How you will make an impact:

This is a remote role based in the US, and reports to the SEO Manager within the Biosciences Division's (BID) Web Team.
Are you interested in becoming part of a newly-established SEO journey in a leading life science company? Up for the challenge in helping construct, educate and support SEO practices from the ground up?

As a Sr. SEO Specialist, you will work closely with the SEO Lead to support and manage varying SEO initiatives including but not limited to technical audits, SEO market research, content support, and reporting insights. You will be a point person to answer questions about SEO from curious and excited colleagues in addition to coaching and collaborating with the content team.
With any newly forming department there will be process refinements, dependencies and shifts to re-sync and find better ways to support the division. This role is crafted to start by wearing multiple SEO hats as the department matures. Whether the focus is international SEO, Data Analytics, Web Dev Support, Content Strategy, Technical SEO or continuing to support organic growth on a project by project basis.

What you will do:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert and support for SEO across the Biosciences Division, working with cross-functional teams to instill SEO best practices, update processes and improve communication
  • Work with Web Production, Digital Marketing Managers, and Web Content teams to implement on-page optimizations
  • Pulling analytics data, structure it in a way to derive insights and guides SEO decisions
  • Influence the internal business partners to prioritize the SEO activities with the greatest potential to meet divisional revenue targets
  • Partner with corporate teams to optimize the customer experience and quality of results of the internal thermofisher.com site search functionality
  • Set up dashboards and reports to track overall SEO performance and project-based initiatives
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and keep the internal team informed of risks and opportunities that will impact the SEO program
  • Provide competitive and market opportunity analyses as they relate to search intent, competitor niche saturation, backlink profiles, and SERP anomalies
  • Establish strong partnership with the divisional Paid Search team to maximize SERP coverage and improve profitability for the business
    How you will get here:

    Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in the life sciences, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, structural biology or comparable.Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with 3+ years in SEO with a demonstrable record of optimizing content heavy sites.
  • Knowledge of on-page SEO, technical SEO and search engine ranking factors.
  • Experience with Data Studio, Google Search Console, SEMRUSH, Screaming Frog, Adobe, Google Analytics, and similar tools.
  • Experience optimizing websites within the Life Science industry a plus.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Superb communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation.

  • Ability to build relationships, influence others, and work effectively with colleagues across multiple locations.
