Description

The SEO and Website Specialist improves our online presence and implements effective strategies to enhance marketing performance. Their responsibilities encompass both Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and website operations, requiring a commitment to staying informed of industry trends and emerging technologies. They conduct comprehensive SEO audits, devise prioritized improvement plans, and implement effective strategies for enhanced organic search visibility. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, they serve as a trusted SEO advocate, ensuring best practices are integrated in every aspect of the digital marketing strategy. In the domain of Web Operations, tasks include building and optimizing landing pages, creating new web pages aligned with SEO best practices, and maintaining a seamless user experience through page builds, edits and issue resolutions. As an active member of the marketing team, they contribute to content campaigns, leveraging internal keyword research and employing analytics tools to define and monitor measurable goals.

Schedule

Mon-Fri between 8 am-6 pm EST (flexible work times)

May be required to troubleshoot and assist with website issues outside of regular business hours

Compensation

$45,000 to $57,000

Remote Location

Anywhere in the continental U.S.
Remote available
5 remote work days per week allowed

Responsibilities

Company Knowledge

Become knowledgeable of company history, mission, vision, values, and products

Maintain knowledge as products are revised and/or new products are introduced

Stay updated on industry trends, algorithm changes, and emerging technologies through workshops, webinars, and self-directed learning

Search Engine Optimization

Develop and implement effective SEO strategies with technical audits, data/traffic analysis, and competitive research to enhance organic search visibility

Conduct ongoing comprehensive SEO audits to identify opportunities for improvement. Share recommendations with the team and/or make adjustments where appropriate

Monitor Google algorithm updates & implement on-site and content changes to adapt to the evolving landscape

Be a trusted SEO advocate by collaborating with other teams to ensure that best practices for search are incorporated

Participate as an active member of the Marketing team to assist with planning, editing, and writing content campaigns, including blogs, support center articles, and webpages based on internal keyword research

Review website usage and user behavior to identify opportunities for improvement

Define measurable goals and metrics and use various analytics tools to monitor them

Review and fix issues identified on Google Search Console

Website Operations

Build and optimize landing pages to support marketing campaigns and enhance user experience

Create new web pages as required, ensuring alignment with SEO best practices and brand guidelines

Create new environments as needed for development, testing, or other purposes

Research, review, and, when necessary, install or update plugins to enhance website functionality

Perform edits to the website theme to enhance functionality and aesthetics

Assist with resolving site-related issues

Job Expectations

Daily check emails and voicemails

Daily communication with other team members

Responsible for addressing critical website issues outside of regularly scheduled hours. In the event of PTO or otherwise unable to be reached, ensure another team member is equipped to handle issues that may arise

Effective and efficient scheduling of appointments

Attendance at regular department and company meetings

Education and Requirements

Degrees

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Digital Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline

Certification in Digital Marketing or SEO preferred

Minimum Qualifications

2 years minimum experience with SEO

2 years minimum experience with WordPress, including experience with theme and plugin management

An average level of knowledge working with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

Experience with Google Search Console and Google Analytics

Familiarity with Hubspot is a plus

Experience with WP Engine or similar hosting platforms.

Knowledge of standard proofreading practices, procedures, and concepts is required.

Ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of our brand guidelines

Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Willingness and ability to learn new software quickly

Proficient in Google Suite

Excellent attention to detail

Sound understanding of basic marketing principles

Ability to work effectively and meet tight deadlines under pressure

Presentable, personable, and articulate in liaising with other departments and vendors

Ability to effectively organize and present information

Creative and flexible problem solver
